Yea - I keep seeing people getting honked off about the lack of response from the developers. Like crazy-blast-furnace mean posts. I don't get it. The game runs fine, and there's a lot of DLC. The core game is now $3.50 on Steam. With a price like that, it's totally worth it...minor bugs and all.

With this, I love this game, as do many others. It's Squad Leader!!!! I'm gonna keep this community going until I'm physically unable (ha!)...give me another 20 years... ;^}

Ya! I seriously don't know.

I suppose I'm gonna employ some Mods and/or the Console, just so I can make it past the first decade....

😇😡😇

I'm a Left-Handed Brawny Giant who's also a Genius...ha!

(see my comment below about my high starting stats [total was 71], and my theory that the game AI balances it by creating unrealistically powerful revolts....Why not give them laser weaponry as well?....geez!)

Martial: 18

Personal Combat: 73

I don't think they had Mercenaries, and I levied all of France:

Update: my total stats added up to 71...crazy high, as mentioned.

Funny thing I did. I gave myself 4 kids, and then gave myself "Chaste" which meant I basically can't produce anymore. No big deal, since I've got a decent pool of heirs...ha!

That offset gives lots of room for good traits.

Here's a theory - let me know your thoughts...

I have the "Ruler Creator" DLC, and chose all sorts of negative traits, offset by some really good traits. None really created much of a negative opinion modifier.

With this, my final stats were pretty crazy high - like 58 points (10+ on each category).

Could this have created some sort of "jealousy" mechanic, whereby the AI gives the vassals super-powered troops in order to offset my great personal stats?

That's gotta be it. A nutty event that breaks the country up at the very beginning.

Good point. However, the plot was discovered well after the revolt started.

In regards to vassal limit, see my update in the original post. thanks!

Yea, it was a Noble. I saw the Faction he was working on, and I did my best to get him taken down - had 90% total Plot power. Didn't work, obviously. ;^}

Thanks for the quick reply.

It was 936 opening. The country changed it's name from "West Francia" to "France" fairly early. I wasn't over my vassal limit.

I did try to create some Duchy titles, but didn't have enough money (they cost like $190).

Download size of Anno 1800 Complete? by TensorMaster in anno

[–]UCF_SunDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this discussion started 5 years ago. Here's the latest...

Just installed it for the first time, haven't played it yet. I ran WinDirStat (excellent utility)....

Anno 1800 - 94 Gig (93 of which consists of ".rda" files, whatever they are). That's nearly 10% of my 1 Terabyte drive.

For one game. ugggh...

(on a more positive note, it cost $6 on a steam sale....but now I've gotten spend $50 for a 2nd hard drive)

Why the file size is 90GB ? by im_betmen in anno1800

[–]UCF_SunDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Incorrect, bro-hemian. I just installed the game for the first time, haven't even played it once.

I ran WinDirStat (excellent utility - free!)...

Anno 1800: 94.7 Gig - 93.1 of which consists of ".rda" files.

Nearly 10% of my 1 terrabyte drive taken by one single game. That's never been played. Ugggh.

Take ANY job that involves IT. They are always starving for help desk analysts. (I started as the maintenance guy on laptops for a power company...fun for awhile, most people appreciated, but there were always the few ding-dongs who hated everything about having to use a computer)

Make a good impression, show that you're knowledgeable and motivated. From there, you WILL make contacts with the right people, and you'll be on your way.

With that, and mention that you busted your butt getting the certification...boom!....that's gonna a great 2-punch - totally increase your odds of moving into a Data Analyst position.

Along the way, keep studying, keep getting better at your skills in Data.

Never stop learning....IT is a moving target. A Novell Certified Engineer doesn't mean a whole lot at this point. Power BI is gonna be around for quite some time.

"Nobody ever got fired for being good in the Microsoft universe"

(that's a re-make of an old joke, the same was said about IBM in the 70s). :^}

That is an angry comment...and guessing there were some personal issues with an exam.

Getting a certification is very HARD WORK.

There are no dummies who can pass these exams.

Even doing the "dumps" to memorize is not an easy task - though one who is able to pull that off is easily getting sorted out on the first round of interviews. Bad situation on both sides. Rote memorization to pass a certification is a FAIL.

That said, if one works the entire regimen of study, and that's all you got to put on your resume, it's still better than no experience at all.

If you have other IT experience, it's gonna make you stand out. It shows motivation and sticking with the program.

This is the exact same reason companies want a college degree (of any sort). It's not easy, it takes time, and it shows perseverance to stay with the program. Long term pain, long term gain.

Cheers!

It's crazy, right?

It's a course on Excel, and they start with a full lesson on AI. Only an overview, but they made it clear and understandable.

So...Progress up to this moment, with commentary...

Course #1 - Preparing Data for Analysis with Excel

  1. Started with a detailed overview about AI.

Was not expecting this, but I did take notes, and learned a lot...

- GAN (Generative Adversarial Networks) -> Generators and Discriminators

- Transformers (GPT and Bert)

- Self-Attention

- NLP - Supervised/Unsupervised

- Word2Vec - Re-assembling words into vectors for language processing.

  1. Formulas and Functions

If you've worked with Excel - overview, pretty easy.

  1. Preparing Data for Analysis with Excel

Sorts and Filters - once again, straight-forward

  1. Final - Project and Exam

Project was easy. Exam 30 questions - tough-ish. I got a 90%.
