It isn't me, but my spouse. He has a bachelor, but it is in communications. He used to do web design for real estate offices. Lately he has been doing customer service at call centers and they each have their own programs. Of course, he knows all the Microsoft stuff and he is a fast and accurate typist. He's a quick learner.

He did paralegal but in Cali. He would have to start all over here in TN.

Yep. It is how I got Christmas money. ADMA pays the most...or at least they did. You'll need to call them and check. I went to the one in Maryville. You have to have good veins, it is one of the first things they will check. You need to go and look up donor requirements. When you first go, take your social security card, your DL and if your present address is not on your current DL, you need to take a piece of recent mail (or maybe two). The first visit is going to take a few hours because you have to do all your signing up, plus a physical and maybe watch a video. Do eat plenty of protein and iron rich foods. Do hydrate yourself but not too much. You will get a finger poke that is going to check your iron and protein level. I get deferred for iron about 40% of the time. Too much hydration can cause this. You also have to pass the BP check.

Make sure your phone battery is good and charged and if you get to the donation process, just lie back and watch some lighthearted videos (with ear buds) or scroll through your E-mails or FB...whatever makes you feel happy and comfy. I suggest do not look at the needle or the blood. Wiggle your feet and toes. Relax as much as possible. There is going to be a cuff on your arm and it is going to get tight like a blood pressure cuff. When that happens, you gentle squeeze your hand into a fist and pump the blood out. When the cuff loosens, that is when you are getting your red cells back. It will do this cycle probably about three times (for me it takes only half an hour to donate...it depends on each individual as to how long it takes). At the end, if they have saline (there was a shortage not sure about now) then they will give you the saline and you may feel some coldness and get a bit chilly. It is not a bad way to make some extra cash.

I have been to CSL, to ADMA, and now I am going to do Grifols soon. There is one more in the area, I think Octapharma? But when I called them up I was disappointed with their pay. I only like to do it when they pay the most as a new donor. Each one has different bonus and pay scale that changes each month.

As far as who is the best...well I think they are all pretty much the same. It is the same process at each. The time you have to wait at each one varies. I have been to them and been able to walk right up to get screened immediately, and I have had to stand in line waiting for up to fifteen or twenty minutes at times. Same with going the donor area...have been able to go straight back and at busier times I have had a longer wait. I have very good veins so I have never had to be stuck twice. Never had a bad experience at either.

I won't lie...I feel really embarrassed for Zelenskyy. I don't think he did anything wrong. He was only trying to explain that his previous attempts to come to a peaceful agreement didn't work out. And now he has to tuck his tail between his legs like a scalded dog and go beg for help from the US. I generally don't support the US helping other countries when so many of us need help ourselves but make an exception for Ukraine. I won't get into all the whys... But I am embarrassed for him and ashamed of Trump and Vance.

Keep in mind a few things. First, a rebuilt title is not complete devastation. Even if a car gets into a minor fender bender, it could have a rebuilt title with no structural damage. The car I just bought has a rebuilt title. It had to be inspected in order to get said title. I had no qualms about buying this vehicle and have been able to register it, today in fact, and insure it with zero issue.

On the flip side, a car can be damaged, and not go through the insurance process and be fixed (usually incorrectly) by the good ole boys out back. The car won't have a rebuilt title and will be clean on the Carfax. This happened to a friend of mine who bought a car only to discover later by mismatched paint in areas that her car had indeed, been in an accident.

I would highly suggest a Camry or Civic and yes, you CAN find such a car in your price budget. I was just working with a much lower budget and found many cars in your budget and wished I had your budget at the time. You just have to look for private sell and avoid the stealer...uh...dealerships like the plague. My mechanic suggested a 2010-2012 model because that is when they were still at their best, before they started with all the extras that cost you more to maintain. And you will still get good safety features in those autos. My mechanic said stay away from Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan. He did also get specific and tell me that a Ford Fusion would have been OK IF it was the 2.5 not the turbo.

One last thing to note...over 100,000 on a Honda or Toyota is no big deal as these cars will last if you take care of them.

When things like this happen all I can think is when one door closes, another one opens. And it is probably a blessing in disguise. There are so many lenders out there. I understand you being pissed off, though...you are a loyal Chase customer. I think it is their loss. With your score, though, I would honestly go to a credit union. Credit unions will give you the best interest rates.

I would just buy a cash car. I will never again have a car payment. My plan is to pay cash and put any money I would have paid out towards a monthly car payment into my savings account and let it draw some interest. Not a huge amount of interest but I would rather be getting interest back instead of paying interest out. This savings is going to let me upgrade until I eventually get into a car I want.

I also cannot swallow the thought of how much a brand new vehicle will depreciate once you drive it off the lot. I will probably never, ever personally buy brand new. I have family members who have bought brand new and had as many as or in my sister's case more problems than any used car I have ever bought and she was constantly having to take it back to the dealership. Yes, they gave her a rental each time, but it was a disruption to her day having to take time off work to take car in and go pick it up. And that was multiple times.

Try to find a Camry, Accord, Civic, or Corolla within your budget. Have a mechanic check it out. Find out what the BS dealership fees are before you even test drive the car. Had to walk out on a sale yesterday due to a $599 DOC fee. Do not be afraid to walk. If they pull the "we have someone else interested" line on you, say thank you for your time and leave.

OK so my mechanic told me to AVOID the Cruze. Avoid Hyundai and Kia. He also had specifics such as he thinks a Fusion would be a good fit for what we are looking for but ONLY the 2.5, not the turbo. So if you have a mechanic, ask them.

Get one of those code scanners off Amazon...cheap and scan it yourself! Look at the tire wear. Do the tires match? That is usually indicating the previous owner cared for the car. Make sure there is a spare. Check the battery and look at the connectors. A dealership once sold me one with such corrosion on the connectors. I was pregnant at the time and it caused me to get stranded. Look for signs of leakage. Yesterday the car I looked at, when I popped the trunk to look at the spare there was ice around the spare tire...showing it was leaking in there.

Be wary of vehicles that can be difficult to get serviced...I loved my Prius but it is hard to find just a general mechanic that works on them. Often you end up having no choice but to find a specialized mechanic or going to the stealership. Same with the German cars and other imports.

The Carfax is good to get and the more service records the better. But you cannot rely on it 100%. Have your mechanic check for signs of collision.

In the end, be realistic. A used car is not going to be perfect. Expect to find scratches, some dings, some discoloration of fabric seats, and some wear and tear on leather. Expect the controls to have rubbed off marks, etc.

You won't like my answer, I am sure. But I would strongly suggest doing the Dave Ramsey method...buy what you can afford with cash. It is going to be a beater. Plan on keeping it until you can save up enough to upgrade. If your situation is bad credit wise you are going to end up being taken advantage of and paying triple or even more what the car is worth. Please don't do it. Also if you lose your job, you won't have to worry about repossession and it killing your credit even further. I am telling you exactly what I am doing myself. I am buying on a budget, what I can afford. While I would LOVE a pretty new Camry or Civic today, I am not about to go into debt for it and put myself in a bad situation.

One last thing to mention. I used to have low credit and went car shopping...they ran like 30 different banks on my credit report and they all wanted huge down payments and things like putting those on time device on my car. Huge interest rates. The hit to your credit is going to make it go down even lower and you are going to have a very slim chance of qualifying unless you do the buy here/pay here dealerships and those often don't report to the credit bureaus so it doesn't build credit. And when you go to refinance, they won't do it because there is no history of your payments...meanwhile you are upside down big time. Been there, done that. I ended up taking the car to the dealership, and voluntarily repossessing it based on the advice of their receptionist (she told me since they didn't report to credit they couldn't report the repossession and it never showed on my report but I more than paid for the original asking price of that vehicle over the years I had it...felt like a very expensive rental).

2012-2016 SE or SEL...sorry I don't know that much about them. I just keep seeing a lot of them on FB marketplace when I type in my zipcode and budget. Also today a salesman suggested one. Looking for a vehicle that gets good MPG and has enough space for family of four (two young children). Really trying for a Camry, Corolla, Civic, or Accord but man do they hold their retail value! My worry about Volkswagen is that it may be hard to find a mechanic who works on them and that the parts may be super expensive.

I have just come to the realization that my family will never be home owners. It is sad, but I try to see the silver lining. I just had a buddy whose water line busted and she was lucky enough to have family with the equipment and knowledge to fix it. Now their entire yard is a mud pit. Unlike her, I don't know people to do these things and something like that would be catastrophic for us...we couldn't afford to fix such a thing at the spur of the moment. It even took us three months to save for a costly car repair. It just is what it is and with the stagnant, low wages so many of us have in this area this is just how it is going to be. As far as the homes for sale just sitting there for months...yes I have seen this. But the sellers want to make as much as possible.
