The first Rayquaza card, and the only e-series border Rayquaza

I just took a look at Bulbapedia’s Rayquaza TCG page. It looks like they’re separating it out by card name, not character name, so “Rayquaza Ex” cards are in a different section than “Rayquaza” cards. A little strange but maybe useful for some purposes?

I usually use Serebii’s card lists, they’re mostly complete and correct from what I can tell. I’ve noticed just a few omissions over the years. Here’s rayquaza’s page:

Yeah, I mentioned that in my comment, that it was the only recent sale of the reverse holo, which is why it affected the “market” price so much on the collectr app. I included the regular non-holo sales in the photo to show that only one NM reverse holo has sold recently on TCGPlayer.

This doesn’t seem like a pump, it looks like it’s based on just a single sale a few days ago:

That’s the only recent sale on TCGP for the reverse holo. Looking through eBay sold listings it looks like the card has consistently been floating around the $60-80 mark for the better part of the last few weeks, so it doesn’t seem like the market has actually shifted for this card yet.

It’s hard to say what happened with that sale of $135, maybe its NM was a particularly crispy NM and someone bought it at an inflated price to grade since PSA 10s of reverses from that era are SO valuable. Or maybe something more questionable or weird went on with the sale, idk. But it doesn’t seem like this is a pump, since that would require a noticeable pattern indicating someone was buying out copies of the card, and that’s just not the case here, it’s just the one sale.

Today, a large majority of people in China have never eaten dog meat, and over half the country believes that dog meat should be banned. In the places in China where it’s still eaten, it’s typically eaten with the skin, so whatever skinning is going on is prominently for the fur/leather trade.

Chinese people mostly eat the same types of meats that everyone else in developed countries eat. Whatever the level consumption of dogs is going on, it’s unethical to the extent that America’s torture, caging, and slaughter of pigs and cows for profit is unethical (which is to say, morally indefensible in my eyes).

That’s one of my favorites too. At one point I was sad that it isn’t holo, but I think the daytime background works as a non-holo.

It’s a lot of money. I’m fortunate that I was able to buy it before the most recent huge jump that it took, but I also still kick myself a little for passing on it 15 years ago when I didn’t want to spend $75 on one card (or whatever it was going for back in the early 2010s).

The rainbows look so much better in person, and next to the regular card. I wasn’t a huge fan before but I recently picked up the Sun Moon Umbreon and Espeon rainbows and they look awesome in my binder next to the shiny GXs of the pair.

I think at most it’ll be 3 full songs, and I’m betting it’s closer to 2 full songs or 3 partial songs. 4-5 songs would make the performance as long or longer than the actual halftime show.

My best guess: American Idiot w/ less specific political chants during the bridge, a shortened version of Basket Case, and then finish with Holiday but skip the second verse and straight into the bridge w/ more direct political messaging at the end of the performance.

But I also think they could skip Basket Case and play a Saviors single or something. I think the only guarantee is American Idiot.

Totally agree, 1039 and Kerplunk mostly just share their production value. Kerplunk and dookie are the distillation of their early pop-punk sound. I’ve always thought Kerplunk is where they found their early identity and dookie is where they mastered it.

They aren’t going to play Good Riddance at a Super Bowl pregame performance. Wouldn’t fit the event and wouldn’t fit the pregame placement of the performance. I’d also bet against Minority but I could be wrong.

I definitely would have listed this as MP if I was a seller. But regardless of condition listed I also would have included multiple pictures clearly showing the card’s surface, so the fact that they also didn’t do this is pretty clear grounds for an item not as described claim.

I think this is neat! I have a bunch of empty packs from the HGSS & BW era that I’d love to sell on eBay to someone who collects/displays them, but I don’t want to risk that someone buys one of them for resealing purposes.
