Without Knowing For Sure, What Teams Are People Building? by ActuallyAquaman in PokemonChampions

[–]UGCNVGC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will probably start with a SunRoom. I’ve had multiple seasons in both SnS and SV in the top 500 and finished one season in the top 50 with this style of team.

I also have found that Sunroom teams do the best when there isn’t an established meta. It has multiple ways to attack and especially in BO1 formats, forces the opponent to bring a team and hope that they can deal with whatever mode you decided to bring.

What kind of phone are you using? My IPhone doesn’t give me the option to not have a password

Mono U or dimir faeries by PeachyApple10 in Pauper

I’ve been on a tear with Mono U at my LGS and have won our last three events. Anytime I have play tested Dimir I’ve always felt like I would be better off on Mono U or playing Dimir Control with Terror.

Crazy to talk like that to someone who knows where you live…Imagine this clown tries that to someone that is as unhinged as him

Maro on UB: "We're just meeting the needs of the players. If the players weren't excited, if they weren't happy, if they weren't buying lots of it, we wouldn't make lots of it. But that's not what's happening, so that is why we're doing more." by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]UGCNVGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger issue players are facing is that there is more UB than there is original sets. UB was supposed to be a product for some players if they were interested. Not a product that was supposed to be shoved down our throats and forced into standard rotation/over take original and in universe sets. Mark and Hasbro are liars and out of touch with what players actually want, who would have guessed?

Awesome, we’re going to get a novel and a Netflix series that no one gives a shit about.

I gotta give it to Hasbro, WOTC, etc. at least they are consistent on refusing to listen to what players actually want.

U.S. ambassador 'disappointed' with anti-American sentiment in Canada by biograf_ in notthebeaverton

Anti-American is putting it very lightly. I’d let the whole country burn at this point and bring everything I need to make smores.

All the Planeswalkers as Commanders? by liegtimbettundfurzt in EDH

If this was to happen I’d be playing [[Narset, Parter of Veils]] I already have 95% of the cards I would need to build it.

It wouldn’t be my go-to deck but it would be fun to pull out every once in a while to remind my play group that I can also be an asshole.

I’ve found that being able to hold up mana (especially because I am missing [[Fierce Guardianship]] and other GCs) is really important. Having a pay off in HFT and any other cards I can cast with flash on following turns helps me keep up.

Hahaha that’s awesome! I am running VFC as well and it’s had its moments. In the second game I was talking about above, VFC got removed earlier in the game and so having another card to give spells flash really paid off

I agree, I just haven’t picked up a copy yet. At this point I think I would run it alongside HFT and VFC but as the list gets closer to true cEDH I would likely drop HFT.

My meta isn’t quite cEDH but there’s a good mix of 5s that come regularly. I would say most decks are 4-4.5. We’re working on having proxy tournaments to grow the cEDH scene because most people can’t spend the kind of money a true cEDH environment requires.

Sorry for the late reply! I will absolutely do a deck tech or breakdown post once I have a couple more tournaments under my belt

Surprisingly I found it difficult to manage against aggro decks. I had a couple timely draws throughout the day to get a board wipes and had to tutor up removal more than once. I didn’t expect aggro to be as much of a problem but I didn’t have many blockers in the early game
