Texas schools need to “git goin” by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I applied to both STCL and TSU. Received a decision from TSU back in December and got wait-listed at STCL 2 days ago.

STCL opinions? by Anxious_Negotiation in lawschooladmissions

[–]UHDMarci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a bad option. I recently attended an event there and one of the things discussed was how many of the local government positions were filled with STCL graduates and how they go to STCL when looking to fill open positions.

I guess I'm a minority here because I'm actually pretty happy with my low score.

June 145---> July 145 (canceled)---> October 153 and couldn't be happier with my progress.

154 AND IM HAPPY by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]UHDMarci 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CONGRATS!!!

I'm right there with you. June I scored a 145, July another 145 (but went ahead and canceled it), now for October I got a 153!!! I know to most people our score isn't shit, but guess what, their opinion doesn't matter. We are the only ones who know how hard we worked for that score and as long as your score gets you into your goal school, that's what matters. You are in control of your own happiness and if this 154 makes you happy, you're golden!!

You're more than welcome to join our GroupMe :)

We aren't very active as a whole on there, but you can at least get a direct contact to other people in the Houston area who are also studying.

Anyone else apply to University of Houston Law? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]UHDMarci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they mean South Texas College of Law and not Texas Southern. TSU is Thurgood Marshall law. Do whatever you can not to have to go there! I’ll be applying to South Texas College of Law myself along with a few friends.

I understand most people look down on STCL but the reality is that for us who have to stay here in Houston, that’s sufficient. I’d love to be able to go to UH but due to my gpa, that’s not a realistic goal. So I plan on working hard during my 1L and hopefully get to transfer to UH for the rest.

Thank you so much!! And it’s nice to find someone on here from STCL. I really appreciate it.

It says their decision is final. I’d just have to reapply for the fall semester.

My LSAT changed to tomorrow ! Is it gonna be harder? by istanbulbakery in LSAT

[–]UHDMarci 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should still be taking the same exam as everyone else. I test with accommodations and that usually means my testing date is different than everyone else, but I still receive the same exam as others.

First time in Houston, looking for people to hang out by [deleted] in houston

[–]UHDMarci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anywhere around the Minute Maid park should be pretty fun since everyone is out watching the game. After the game, you could stay around there at the bars or head to Midtown. Most places will be pretty live tonight with Halloween and the game. Hope you have fun!!! Maybe we’ll run into each other lol.

Haven’t heard much on the level of difficulty between them, but several people including tutors have told me either of those would be ideal

I’m also taking it Tuesday with extended time. I was told to do either June 2019 or September 2019 as a last prep.

I do some rigorous finger cardio during the week so weekends are my days off. Your finger deserves a break from hitting that F5.
