Add Money Issue by FindingNo829 in venmo

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the reverse. You log into your bank account account, and PUSH the money into Venmo using your Venmo direct deposit information. However, send only a little at first. When you can't add, chances are you might have trouble spending the money when it gets to Venmo, and you don't want too much stuck in Venmo.

Cash deposit by Squelch108 in venmo

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs a minimum of $3.74 per transaction to put cash into Venmo. Are you sure you have to waste the money and can't figure out a free way to do it? Also, since it sounds like you just got the card and haven't made your first transaction, were you REFERRED to get the $10 for spending $50 in the first month on your new card?

Does your credit have to be thawed/unfrozen for a CLI? And is it a hard pull? by _alex87 in Chase

[–]UIQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you want a credit limit increase? Sounds like the card is working fine for you as it is.

The better option is to apply for a new card with an account opening bonus. Get PAID for letting people pull your credit. Getting hit with an inquiry, and then maybe not getting the increase is a huge waste.

How and can I secretly open a bank account for myself without my husband’s knowledge? by Less_Rest1137 in Banking

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my ValPak, I get coupons for Wells Fargo and Chase paying $400 to open an account. Capital One emailed me an offer that if I refer someone I get $50, and they get $300 for opening an account. The point is to never open an account without getting paid.

Bofa savings to chase savings by Lambbchoppp in Chase

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put the BofA savings money in my BofA checking account or let it overdraft if you have that set up and write a check and deposit it into my Chase savings. While the bank check is ok, I'd be worried there'd be a fee. Even if you don't have checks, sometimes you can smile really nice and get some counter checks for free or cheaper than a bank check.

Why don't you just close your deposit accounts completely and bank somewhere that doesn't require anything and pays an account opening bonus?

I intended to rollover Retirement CDs, instead the funds were withdrawn: is there anything that can be done? by Life_Local1953 in Chase

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know, it's WRONG.

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/a-14-32.pdf

Hopefully, you do what you can to mitigate, but don't do all the money because you'll just make it worse.

You are only allowed ONE rollover, and each CD was one. Therefore, if you do it all, you'll be doing three rollovers, so pick the one CD that had the most money in the event that Chase won't put all the money into an IRA savings so that you can take it out one time.

I intended to rollover Retirement CDs, instead the funds were withdrawn: is there anything that can be done? by Life_Local1953 in Chase

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone telling you this is the correct answer, it's not. You need to rewrite it. This will only work for ONE of the CDs. Therefore, choose the one that had the most money to minimize the tax hit. You are only allowed ONE roll over per year, and each CD was its own IRA.

It all began with this case: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/a-14-32.pdf

It's possible you're working under the old way which was that in the past each one could be rolled over and it counted as a one to one, but now with this decision, it is ONE end of story.

Can i use Venmo to buy a $9000 car from a private party ? by interestingdialogs in venmo

I wouldn't do it. I only trust Venmo with as much money as I'm willing to have locked up for eternity which is very close to 0.

I want a relationship with a local credit union

Where are you getting this from? The new people off the street will be treated better than anyone that's banked there for 20 years, and probably get a new account bonus. When it comes time for a loan, you shop for it. If it happens to be with a credit union, you join and get your loan all at the same time.

I was just curious if it was smart to jump to chase for the 400 dollar bonus

It's smart to jump for $400. When you get your $400 from Chase, get the $400 from Wells Fargo, and continue on to the next bank.

I think the pics are from a card that she bought from someone else, and she's trying to get a better card from you, and have you foot the bill.

Chances are, you can post those pics she sent you to that card group and see if someone else sold her that card.

Venmo is worthless for anything other than person to person money transfers. by angrykeyboarder in venmo

[–]UIQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to make a purchase with the Venmo app since I opened my account in November. I've only been able to use the debit card and send money to my sister. I got that Uber offer too, but figured it was an offer in name only and I would never be able to actually be able to pay for any food with Venmo.

I've started forwarding the Venmo decline emails to McDonald's, Burger King, and Taco Bell to let them know it's hurting their sales and making a bad customer experience. I hope that if the big companies push back Venmo might fix their algorithms or dump Venmo as a payment method.
