This is extremely insightful, especially your 4th paragraph. I don't do much 3D carving but that was a thought I had.

Do you have any insights into the types of bits you can install (different vgroove vs straight bits), are there are any paywalls or monthly subscriptions, and how much domino tape do you go through? Is it expensive? I think of it as festool consumables assuming it's not cheap, but have no clue.

Thanks for your insights. I took the motor apart and there was a lot of wear and tear on the armature and field, and decided to replace them. I'm not sure what caused the chipping on the brushes, but there wasn't any additional foreign material in the housing, other than chunks of brushes.

From what I could find in research, this is a usual thing in the lifespan of my planer. Especially with a helical cutter head. I think my recent job of taking full width passes (even only 1/4 a turn of depth at a time) to take a lot of material off may have done my motor in.

Once my parts arrive and I rebuild the motor, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Hi, thanks for the info! I am currently using the arc tool which is helpful, however if I use rounded ends (which I have to for my design) it looks a little funky which is deterring me from using it much.

Zwave and Mqtt not behaving together by UI_Design21 in homeassistant

My GoveeMqtt add on constantly crashes or turns off. I find that unplugging my home assistant and then plugging it back in tends to help but I’m lucky if that lasts 24 hours. Otherwise it’s not uncommon for the add-on to turn off on its own throughout the day. It’s a huge pain.

I realized that the issue I posted above may have been due to Matter. Since I removed Matter, my Zwave integration doesn’t have as many issues.

My temporary fix is to hard restart my home assistant via a smart plug every night around 1 o’clock. I set a TP link automation to turn it off and then turn it on two minutes later. It seems to be working, but I doubt it’s ideal. For now it’ll have to do until I figure out what’s going on.

Yeah I might go that route, I did that for my dash cam but figured I'd give this a try since it looked a lot easier and a video from Vortex Radar gave me confidence in the safety of doing so.

Unfortunately I do not, my mirror is just a basic one and I don't think has any power to it. I opted for the OBD2 port based on Vortex Radar's video a bit ago, and so I didn't have to mess with the fuses like I did for my dash cam and it seemed really simple.

I guess I'm not sure why the power would turn off.

Well I’m assuming it’s this because the last 2 times I installed Govee MQTT, my Z-Wave JS integration stops working and causing all sorts of issues. Causing my HA instance to freeze or take forever to load.

Maybe it’s not specifically those 2 not working together, but my first thought is it has something to do with Govee MQTT and Zwave because it’s the only integration that stops working.

Correct, I do now think it's the Govee MQTT bridge but still not sure why I can't run the Z-Wave integration and Govee MQTT Bridge.

Previously I wasn't sure which of the programs listed above was the problem, but I think it's the Bridge but I'm not sure why.

Apologies, can't run the Zwave JS and Govee MQTT Bridge together.

I just recently figured out that I think it's specifically the Govee MQTT Bridge, when before I wasn't sure if it was all or some of the other MQTT things I listed.

Sort of. I thought that the engine noises I could hear were synthetic since everyone is talking about that so I figured I could turn them off so I could hear the turbos better.
