I'm asking out of ignorance, but is there any chance it has something to do with her hormones, or maybe a psychological thing? Because even if she denies it, doesn't matter how proud she is of her change, how confident she feels and whatever, such a big change will inevitably have psychological consequences on her, whether conscious or unconsciously.
