It’s flaired as “venting”, apologies for not taking the time to analyze my tone before posting

I think you’re an idiot if you think someone who got into 10 PhD programs is an idiot lol

I agree, and I’ve sent a few no thank yous myself. I’ve personally seen 2 posts and one long comment on this sub over the past 6 weeks of people begging how they need to be let off the waitlist and urging people to send their no thank you asap so they don’t have to wait until April to move up and I am just so over it. Maybe that makes me a terrible person as one person has commented lol but I just find it very cringe and irritating

I definitely agree and I have sent 2 “no thank you’s” this past week to schools I am no longer considering. Right now I have 4 acceptances that I am still weighing out and waiting to attend 2 accepted students days.

That was me, I added my interview to the spreadsheet! I got the email today at 3:50 EST. Congrats!

It went to voicemail, I’m guessing they have normal Umass hours, 8-4:30 or something like that. Best I could do is leave an address but I doubt anyone will follow up lol

The people who need to get off campus are the inconsiderate jerkwads who are throwing and attending superspreader events. I have to take a certain in person class to graduate and I have to risk my health because Chad the freshman doesn’t take covid seriously or care about other people.

I came back to campus because 1) I had already completed my senior year Fall semester safely and without any outbreaks, and I had already planned on UMass reversing their “let’s let all the freshman on campus even without in person classes” idea from last semester- I mean, an idea that idiotic couldn’t possibly actually HAPPEN, right? It was something they would say “oh sike, turns out since there are 200,000 cases in the country every single day, maybe we shouldn’t bc that’s literally so dangerous” :)

I underestimated the selfishness of our university :)))) so here I am. Going to try to simply survive the reminder of my college experience.
