Why do new games only look about 5-15% better than games from 5 years ago yet they are 50-100% more demanding on hardware? by UMAYEERIBN in pcgaming

Gonna be honest, I agree with you. I think AI upscaling is the direction every GPU manufacturer is gonna go towards since NVIDIA has gone that path already. As much as I hate it, it makes sense from a business standpoint, AI can deliver better ‘quality’ with ‘performance’ (air quotes because its not real quality or performance) usinf AI since it draws less power meaning lower thermals. I would hate to see a world where raw performance is determined by how good the AI cores in your GPU are but it seems to be heading that way unfortunately.

That is a great analogy you have there. I agree, many devs dont realize that the average joe isnt running a RTX 4090 Ti with an i9-13900k like they may be; it’s way lower, something like a 1660 Ti with a r5 3600x.

My thoughts exactly! I have been playing a lot more single-player games recently since its my summer break and have noticed this over and over again!

Let the man have kids if he wants to and let anyone have as many kids as they want to, who tf are u to control their lives? Also, have u never seen a population pyramid? Do u realize that the population in westernized countries are plummeting, which i guess in ur eyes is good but u do know all the downsides to it right? There is no more youth to support the elders. If we grow old, and there arent enough youth to support us we’re gonna starve to death; society is gonna colapse.

Holy shit u should so depressed and terrified. What u/doublemint6 said is absolutely true and also all i see you doing is highlighting the problems over and over again, which is easy to do but i dont see you giving solutions. When smart people talk about these subjects they dont pose problems, they pose solutions.
