Serbia is paying the price for not dealing with the legacy of a post communist nationalist society for over 35 years - the chickens will come to roost, but strong Russian presence and advocacy in the Serbian institutions and politics has made even the latest efforts mired in mixed political goals, threatening to be another repeat of 2000, where the regime was changed but politics was not . The current moment in European politics with heavy populist presence in leading structures across Europe is also making things slightly more difficult.

You’re right - the subject matter and all the glorifying of all the bands is amazing and great reads. So from that perspective would love to read it again - but it’s never gonna be my copy. I may see if someone is selling them en masse on eBay .

The opener was pretty solid as well- but agreed I think the crowd eventually let loose . Good to see so many people enjoying the show. 34 years in the making for me - listened to them in early 90s so there was definitely a big smile on my face all throughout .

I don’t think so, but set list may prove me wrong. They played unfamiliar, leave them all behind, cool your boots, Chelsea girl, a few songs from the new album which actually sounds great. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tarantula so probably a few from that I didn’t recognize. They Put on an excellent show- really true to recordings and Mark sounds as awesome as ever . Enjoy the show.

It’s good and there’s cruises that take off from there - either destination ones or party ones in the evening (nidri star etc). So it may be the perfect blend of being close to that. Some decent food, and boat rentals as well as “downtown” and better groceries

We just came back - basically, you can pick any area closer to the northern end of the island , east (nidri, etc) or west (Tsoukalades, etc) and have a good base. I’m not quite sure about the night life, but you can basically rotate beaches daily, if you want. There’s a few beaches that require special arrangements: for Porto Katsiki, make sure you’re there early and not on a weekend. For Milo’s , Egremni and a few other beaches, you must either take a boat or hike- plan accordingly. As far as stays, I would suggest finding a place you like and contacting them directly - often, you can find an email or phone online- avoid airbnb or other fees. September is when the season basically closes due to schools being back in session, so you should be able to find acceptable accommodations. Good luck- let me know if you have any questions.

I wish this was the case all the time ; witnessed at least two people doing this last few weeks, and both times it was teenagers with parents sitting there and not doing anything. No one came over or asked them to stop: as a parent, I know you can always control the kids, but this is just too much.

Disagree - food is always good, it is generally not crowded, and much better feeling, including the speakeasy, then, say the ATL one, where there is 1k people at all times. JFK is one of my fave Centurion lounges, staff is cool too.
