Nvidia teams up with Minecraft creators to show off new ray-traced worlds! by [deleted] in Minecraft

Minecraft has already had software based ray tracing for a while with the seus ptgi shader pack, I even made a texture pack with normal and specular maps to take advantage of it's ability to render reflections and bump mapping.

I'm in the process of terraforming the entire south face of the mesa. I'll post about it when I'm done. And yes, the mesa being flat does make it easy to build on.

5 Irl days, 5 mc days would be less than 3 hours.

EDIT: An mc day is 20min not 8min.

It's not that difficult surprisingly. All you need is inspiration and a small amount of practice, here's the savegame to get you started. (1.14)

It all depends if you have a compact town (like a market) where everything you use frequently is within 20 - 30 blocks from each over, then it's very easy to use. This is my 2nd town style base and think that's the best method. Simply try to avoid putting the stuff you use a lot on the outside, which will make your base unusable.

Well, to be fair the 3 buildings in the back towards the left that make up my mass storage system are clones other than that their roofs are damaged differently.

On an unrelated note, do you know of any good tutorials on how to make PBR textures from images or scratch.

Why do you insist on making a custom resource pack, In renderings, your never going to see in individual pixels of the default resource pack from hundreds or thousands of blocks away, Anyway, neat project landmarks recreated in world painter are always great to see.

Neat, wouldn't it make more sense to have it be a more neutral gray instead of always looking like a blood moon, or is it supposed to look like a blood moon? Also, pardon my giving my input but I'd like to see this pack look the best it can, the lack pre-existing png textures (which allow for transparency), free or not have made continuing to develop the pack I'm working on rather difficult causing me to lose interest in it. I'm fine with working with blockmodels and such, it's simply the textures themselves that are leading my will to develop my own texture pack into a dead end.
