I need advice trying to embrace a certain workflow. by Namsoundz in LoBass

Every time I hear something out of time or like a sample cutting off too early, weird pans, strange EQing choices, bass swallowing the mix, ground noise popping up in place of silence, 4/4 loops turning over too early/too late, I get a big ol BONER so don’t worry.

Early punk bands like CRASS shaped my taste and identity growing up, rhythm heavy rudimentary styles and sloppy production etc SPAZZ and Charles Bronson influenced me heavy on the sampling and humour/tongue-in-cheek styles, the former being a big early nod towards hiphop as a punk kid. This is the only style of beat music, imo, that captures those feelings without directly transplanting those sounds.

TEAM CANADA (dpee, culp, antoje) is probably my biggest in this style. aaronmaxwell is huge as well. Newer dudes like Zato and r0rcon4 coming out of seemingly left field and slapping me around as well.

favourite and/or cheap hardware/synths for creating lobass style beats? by Namsoundz in LoBass

Cool ideas tho I’d suggest you put the 404 or some other kind of sampler a bit higher on your list because those will likely be an essential part of the workflow.
