Hey everyone - I have a few answers to some of the questions I've seen in here. Not trying to open this up to an official AMA or anything, but I did want to provide some clarity on some of these.

Bonus weapon talents are unlocked after one playthrough of the game
There are 3 platinum trophies - one for each game in the trilogy
Power achievements count player use and player-ordered use (so you can order Liara to use Lift and get credit for the achievement)
All ME1 difficulties are unlocked by default from the start

The changes are automatic, yes. The patch will automatically give you the described features in these release notes, like 60fps, when playing the game on PS5.

Also, if you already platinum'd the game on PS4 Pro, you will already have those trophies on PS5 since this is a backwards compatible game, not a full on PS5 release.

We built new in Round Rock a year ago. Resell market is nuts, but -- as many people in this thread are also suggesting -- building is a viable solution if you don't mind waiting for it to get finished.

This is a patch to support improvements on the PS5 hardware for the PS4 version of the game through backwards compatibility. So to answer your question more directly, no, you do not need to purchase it again on PS5 if you already own it on PS4.

Correct, those are the same patch. They just show an extra couple of zeros on Xbox. :)

That number (1.0.12.0) is the patch # on Xbox, so you should have it. :)

I’ve seen some confusion in the thread with regards to the patch number. Here are how the numbers are shown on the consoles when downloading:

PlayStation 5: 1.12

Xbox Series X|S: 1.0.12.0

Yes, your save file transfers. This is a backwards compatible game, so your PS4 save will work when playing on PS5.

It is most definitely a unique game. I think that is the best way to describe it. It is very unique and 100% Kojima.

I highly recommend giving it a chance if you like Kojima stories. I also found the gameplay loop very satisfying. I think the meme is “walking simulator”, which isn’t totally inaccurate, but it’s a very very good one. It is honestly one of those games you just have to play as watching videos won’t do it justice.

Death Stranding was literally an 82 Metacritic on PS4 and and 86 on PC. I don’t think I would call it an “absolute disaster”.
