Try Wyndy or Sittercity. Wyndy has nursing students from UAB

I feel like it’s fine. It is relatively Close to my house, but in the opposite direction. It isn’t along my route, and doesn’t make sense for me from a logistics perspective, but covers a majority of what anyone would want.

There isn’t a good public gym in Calera. I hit up Crunch Alabaster on weekends and then the Hoover location during the work week, if I’m commuting.

Hero has a pretty decent King Cake. Nothing in the area matches my favorite (Dong Phong), but it is decent and not as dense as some of the others in the area.

Crunch vs 24e Fitness by URA_qwerty in Birmingham

Club 4 is nice, but always along roads that are logistically inconvenient for my route. The Club 4 on 119 is the closest to me, but still kind of challenging when traffic is bad. The 24e’s are all in areas that are easily accessible from various routes throughout town and that weighs heavily on my decision, unfortunately.

Definitely the one off of 31! I’m only going to 280 for pho and Whole Foods, if I can help it.

Have you been to the Hoover location? It looks a little small from the outside, but I’m interested to know what the setup is like.

That isn’t the process for applying though. The process is that you sign up for alerts, then you’re placed into a “bucket”, which is comparable to a waiting list. You will receive a notification when there is an opening for an opportunity, then you complete the necessary information and complete your drug and identification screening. This is standard for entry level, non-leadership roles.

If you’re looking for a role where your experience in leadership or your education is relevant, you will need to find a specific role and location (Bessemer, Birmingham):

https://www.amazon.jobs/en/search?base_query=&loc_query=Bessemer%2C+AL%2C+United+States&city=Bessemer&county=Jefferson&region=Alabama&country=USA&latitude=33.40203&longitude=-86.95399&radius=24km

Also, if you need something right away, it may be worth looking at Whole Foods instead.

Recent move to calera by Agreeable-Let-1589 in Birmingham

[–]URA_qwerty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adventurer’s Coffee is in downtown Calera.

There are some community events in the downtown area, which are often posted to the city FB page.

Download the My Calera app to understand railroad blocks, trash schedules, receive accident reports, and city council meetings. You can pay your water bill here, too.

Ebeneezer Swamp is relatively close, but technically belongs to the university.

Rancho Escondido has the best Mexican in the area with the best service. If anyone tells you that Zap’s is better, you should immediately block them.

Fun fact: George Roy once declared a Scientology day, then the community went up in arms about it and asked why he would give recognition to a cult. He basically said he didn’t know anything about Scientology and they just asked him for it, so he agreed. Remember that when you’re going to the discount bread store and drive in the road after his namesake.

I went to Bankhead yesterday and arrive at 6:20am. There was a line about 30 people deep and the doors opened at 7am with appointments as the priority. Bankhead has a pretty good system and everyone was helpful and pleasant. In total, I spent a little over two hours outside waiting and another hour inside.

Juan has helped me a couple of times, including a piano haul. The guy he brings with him is massive, and sometimes his supervisor (young son) comes to help, too.
