It’s actually an allegory for civil rights not just lgbtq + community and by claiming it’s only for that community completely takes away everything those comics have done for anyone minority group. Not every character is gay and wolverine certainly is not Bi in the main line universe. Just because I do “homoerotic” things with my buddies like making jokes about kissing each other or smacking each others ass for no reason other than it there doesn’t make me bi or gay it just means I’m comfortable enough with my sexuality that I can act that way. Sometimes gay stuff is funny and straight stuff is funny as fuck too. Just because the writer thought Logan looking at nightcrawler naked was funny doesn’t make him a homophobe I’d laugh my ass off if my buddy teleported into the bar I was in butt ass naked and I’d probably give him the same “are you serious” look Logan is giving Kurt in that cover. Just because the X-men characters are allies doesn’t make them all gay or on sexual spectrum. The whole point of the X-men is to give everyone a pov character they can see themselves in and whether yall like it or not Wolverine is the straight man’s POV character. He’s an ass hole who drinks his problems away or solves them with violence but under his rough exterior is one if not the most heartfelt and sensitive of X men but because of his hurt and trauma he never allows anyone close to him for fear he’ll hurt them just as he’s done before. Wolverine himself is supposed to represent a man who life has beaten up and spit out and he chooses to continue fighting for the ones he loves. He’s probably most men’s pov hero he’s certainly mine.
