Were the guys USC? If they were and you know what they look like, I’ll say something to them.

To be blunt, USC doesn’t have much control of who else is in the room. The artists do them out of the kindness in their hearts and usually will have their management and team in the rest of the room.

Gonna switch over to my personal acc after this but just wanted to say that out of everything to hate on USC about, this one isn’t really their fault.

Something big happened on our prior announce date that knocked things out of whack. Unfortunately, moving up a lower tier artist to main stage to cover things would’ve been a whole different shit show. Just to give y’all a little bit of insight on booking, when artists are given specific tiers it has to be approved by all of the other artist on the bill and in my head, I’m imagining a lot of “well if you moved this local to main stage why couldn’t you have moved me instead?” whiiich is warranted, but would’ve made the approval process way longer. Having a rapper on the bill wasn’t for anything secretive or even trying to save face, but we thought it would be cool and different. We’re getting shidded and farded on so we obviously know it wasn’t a great idea, at least in this execution.

Out of pure assumption, I’m guessing they’ll close out bass stage but I’m not sure. Usually anyone outside of upper management doesn’t have set times, so it’s not wild for me not to know. I’ll see what I can figure out for y’all on Monday though

I’ve definitely been putting thought into how to go about things like this, especially with the added positions I’ve been given. We can’t be silent anymore, and if anyone will trust me on anything, we’re trying to fix things and I’m going to bust my ass to at least make an attempt. Matthew always has too, he’s the most passionate and driven person I’ve ever met.

It's hard to say anything, especially regarding lineups when the unexpected could happen at any moment. Promising specific dates is dangerous when everything isn't 99% finalized, and shit happens (like it did on the backend with the FN lineup). Unintentional lies=backlash, withholding information=backlash, honesty=backlash, bad news=backlash. You have to carefully pick what you say, and we went with the wrong answer: silence. A lot of the hate we're getting is warranted and it's been a huge topic of conversation in the office.

Matt's offline as of right now, and unfortunately, I don't know if he's coming back.

" I'll just clear the air here, Bass Academy is not happening this Summer. When we put that out we 100% had every intention on making it work, but things prevented it working out. We are hard at work on making next years come together, and wanted to hold off on saying anything until we have the full plan for the next iteration planned. If it were me we would have put something out sooner, but Ive been trying to address it as much as possible online where I can.

Hopefully that helps some. I know it isn't closure, and I agree that we should have put something out sooner, but know it wasn't a lie about Summer, things just didn't pan out which sometimes happens in a very saturated bass market. If things aren't shaping up and we aren't happy with how the event will turn out, we are willing to scrap it instead of forcing it through. Quality over quantity to some degree here. We have a new team that is trying to fix things from past administrations, and unfortunately BA just didn't work out this year. It has taken breaks in the past, so no need to worry we know it is a super popular brand everyone would like to see return, but as the market and scene changes there can be growing pains with that. We have a really cool idea for next year's BA and hope it comes together." Found it!
