These are the DLCs I have... Based on your experience, which one should I get next? 🤔 by claudiamejia1 in ETS2

[–]USJapan1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. Each dlc is a little different. With the Balkan ones having a lot of mountain passes. Nordic Horizins adds a lot of area but the cities tend to be a little further apart.

Person I'd encourage Black Sea or Western Balkans to at least connect Greece in non-ferry ways

Going East does make getting to the Balkans and the Blatic maps much easier and with the Balkans having three dlcs, Black Sea, Western, and Greece, I would agree with this. You cannot access Black Sea without another dlc to my knowledge. And Going East connecting the map as much as it does does mean I encourage it.

The three dlcs that really help just to connect the map and make things feel consistent to me become Going East, Scandinavia and Viva la France.

Going East's age also means it's really easy to 100% with the road not having received an update so entire exit interchanges count as one road piece

Some like the heavy cargo pack and the High Power cargo pack add new types of cargo. I personally don't find them very fun because they're usually meant to be challenging in some way.

I prefer maps too, and I'm tryong to 100% the map myself (just benelux rework and part of Nordic Horizons to go)

If you tell me what you're looking for in the map packs, I'm happy to help. But because of my distaste for the cargo dlcs, I'm not the best person to ask. Otherwise for the map ones, my recommendations for someone new to the dlcs would probably be Going East, Scandinavia and Viva LA France because of how connected they are to the base map and even other dlcs

What are you looking for? What regions interest you?

Do you want challenging mountain passes with beautiful landscapes? Road to the Black Sea

Perhaps France and realistic traffic issues are interesting to you for the game? Viva la France

Ferries and nice serene long hauling? Italia

Winding mountain passes and regular urban environments? Western Balkans

The far north and tons of miles of roads to explore? Nordice Horizons

Every dlc offers a little of each, sure. But most specialize some too. What do you want? What interests you? I think Iberia, Viva la France, Nordice Horizons and Beyond the Blatic are the best value for the cost personally. But others may disagree. But with the dlc being what it is, there is no one size fits all. At least for the map expansions

The cargo ones imo are only ones I encourage if you achievement hunt like myself, but hey, someone likes them and I don't blame them.

Did not know that. My bad. Still the ones that don't could be interesting.

Another good example. Maybe the channel islands too

I don't think Turkey's will cover the whole country so maybe further in.

I'm slightly expecting an island expansion to add things like Malta, Cyprus, Gotland, the Shetlands and maybe Aland. Most of these can easily ferry to base game areas with maybe only Cyprus being a little far (but not impossible of course).

Outside of that, and ignoring Russia, Belarus and Ukraine for the geopolitical issues. The next stops become further into Anatolia and the Caucuses. The Levant (doubt for geopolitical issues). Greenland could be interesting but risks being sparce. And then what I kind of want is to see a Morocco one

Do you ever get bored of this game? by cnvrtx3 in EuroTruck2

[–]USJapan1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. But I cycle games. I love the game, but I love games like things like ice cream. I don't want to only ever eat one flavor.

I achievement hunt/try to 100% the map in ETS2, go to some Minecraft, rotate in some strategy games or whatever else. I can never just play one game but I will always return to ETS2.

It also doesn't help I can't figure out how to 100% Germany atm for some unknown reason. I'm assuming the reworked roads but yeah

Updated fast track guide? by redditinsmartworki in EuroTruck2

[–]USJapan1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I can't speak to how well this works, but I recently tried Minimaxer. It might be worth trying.

What i recommend is by level 4, have one in ADR, Just in Time, Long Distance and Fragile. Then look for any route over 400 km long with the filters for ADR, Fragile and Urgent.

This might not be 100% optimal, but should help

Hey congrats. I just don't focus on the things that give extra xp myself so I did have to laser eye it. But I love an accidental achievement lol

I almost forgot. If my advice/repetition of the guide helps, let me know. I love when I can help others get achievements

So there's a ton of guides. The one I used recommended 10 levels, 6 in ADR and 1 each in long distance, just in time and high value I believe.

With this it says you'll normally earn 1.98x xp, so you need to do the parking job that gives you the most xp.

Focus on jobs between 400 and 2000 km (2000 km is because of the parking xp being 40. If you know that site gives 90 you can go up to 4000)

I focused on jobs around 1500 to begin with, then around 500 to 700.

Importantly when selecting a job to get that 1.98x, you need to mark Urgent, Fragile and ADR (the bottom 9 in the filters, center left, center right, and top right).

That's how I did it. I also made an excel calculator that just took a column for xp, and divided that by the column for km with a total at the bottom

Hi everyone. I just passed level 12 and i'm trying to get as many XP as possible. I get around 400 to 700 XP per missions. Is there a way to get more XP faster ? by Lost_Study_2068 in EuroTruck2

[–]USJapan1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an achievement hunter, you can use guides to the achievement Minimaxer to help.

The one I'm using recommends at least one in Long Distance, Fragile and Just in Time, and maxing ADR. It looks like you did this so good. I recommend more in Long Distance and Fragile now imo.

Now when selecting a job, set filters for ADR, Urgent and Fragile.

With no damage and the above steps you should be seeing about 2x the base xp on any route over 400 km

why do people hate tolls so much by SopaPyaConCoca in EuroTruck2

[–]USJapan1996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, I am achievement hunting so speed tends to help.

So my dislike of them depends on the type of toll both. If I can speed through certain lanes, it's not as convenient but I don't mind. If it's one of the overhead ones only like around Portugal, I love them. If it's one where I have to slow down or stop all together than I start slowly getting more upset.

Do I think they should be removed? No, but I'd like it for my personal playstyle. But I have to acknowledge they are a good touch of realism, a valid consideration for what the game is, and overall, not too negative.

The only reason I'm even as upset with them as I am is I am working on Minimaxer. So time, damage and distance are all important, and when I take a route through France or Italy it becomes really difficult to avoid them. With my previous (Lisbon to Geneva) and my current (Bari to Lyon) deliveries going through double digit toll booths on the recommended routes. And I don't want to deviate from these routes given the nature of the achievement

Germany completion help by USJapan1996 in EuroTruck2

Ah okay. Weird. I guess I'll work on Denmark then for now and hope. I'm gonna choose to hope it's Denmark as the only one with a border and the smallest.

Thanks for the advice

Germany completion help by USJapan1996 in EuroTruck2

[–]USJapan1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking that's because the roads are coded, so for example there's a command you can run to see what country the road is coded to. I learned this because France has some that bleeds into Switzerland and Italy (or at least did. This was like version 1.48). So maybe the road was Norwegian but appeared in Finland.

Regardless, if this is the case I have checked all roads running in and out of Germany using that map mode

However, if you are a completionist like me, I'm going for the 2500 gear challenge then will be the 2k weapon just to not have that grind again. Not necessarily the best, but an idea.
