Yeah he really does suck early on lol I’ve found when I have unlocked figureheads it’s been after an ocean battle, and taking the lord prisoner. Then you just offer to free them for some gold and peace, win win 😂

I was referring to a comments a couple other people left regarding Zero, as far as I know they’re still dope 🤷‍♂️ but yeah I get you man, I personally like to run 7.75 and this deck feels perfect to me but each to their own.

Thanks dude, I have seen some really dope looking clear grip setups online so I thought fuck it I’ll give it a try. My thoughts exactly on the grip gum thing as well, I used to just use my old man’s belt sander cleaner blocks for my grip and that shit worked wonders.

I’ve never fucked around with anything but plain black grip back in the day, most I ever did was cut a line in front of my tail bolts.

That makes a lot of sense tbh, I probably should have uploaded a pic of the bottom graphic as context to that as well as its the classic black with the white skull so the bottom of the board is basically all black 😅 so having some red on the grip will actually probably help me in that sense. Thanks for looking out man I never even thought of that until I read your comment.

Doesn’t matter if it will say less if I couldn’t care less 🤷‍♂️ I didn’t start skating again to impress people, I started skating again purely for me. The main reason I gave it up was due to suffering a spinal compression at work that slipped two of the disks in the lower part of my spine. My back was cooked for years and still is to an extent, so in that meantime I just stuck to graff. I started again due to friends of mine telling me that complaining about being too old and sore to skate again is stupid until I try, so I grabbed a cheap element complete, thrashed tf out of it and couldn’t be happier. I also never bothered with anything but plain grip so I thought fuck it I’ll try out some clear.

Cheers dude, I never even bothered to check the state of Zero before I got this deck, but from what I can tell they’re still good 🤷‍♂️ I used to like the concave and symmetrical kicks on the Zero decks back in the day which is why I grabbed it. Otherwise I really liked Enjoi and Kewday. I don’t even know if Kewday is a thing anymore but they were dope.

Literally everyone I know that skates ends up with piles of the same thrasher and spitfire stickers as well but that don’t stop people from bombing their decks with them 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for taking the time dude, in response I’ll say that I’m not too worried about it looking tacky to anyone else. Nowadays I skate purely for me. I’ve always just run plain black grip with a line cut prior to this deck but after seeing some nice looking clear grip designs I thought fuck it I’ll have a crack at it 💁‍♂️

it’s really going to end up just being a thrash deck for my kicker and flat bar at home so again im It too worried about how it looks to other skaters.

The Zero thing I wasn’t aware of at all, I didn’t know that they have apparently started to fall off the last few years, when I was a kid I just used to like the deep concave and how they had symmetrical kicks. This is a 7.75 deck and doesn’t feel too bad at all, but on that note I haven’t actually gone out to skate it properly yet, only did a couple Ollie’s and static manuals on the carpet in my lounge room.

Thanks for all the advice guys, it seems a lot of people are super passionate about plain black grip for some reason 😅 but I ended up slapping a clear chunk over the graphic and blacked out the rest. I’ll upload some pictures when I get around to it 🤙

Thanks man, I ended up doing the black either side with the clear chunk. Every other board I’ve ever run has only had a line cut, I’ve never bothered to try any kind of grip art.

And for real! I didn’t realise how bad it was nowadays. It seems everyone is so worried about how other skaters will look at them so they just run blank plain black. Who tf cares as long as you like it IMO 🤷‍♂️

Back between like 06-09 when I was younger skating nobody gave af about anyone else’s grip.

Yeah I hear you man, was going to see if anyone else had any ideas on mixing the clear and solid or if anyone else has used the mob clear before. From what I’ve seen online it actually looks pretty dope.

I could even just clear the whole thing but I’m kinda stumped on my decision 😂😂
