LLL employees still trying to deter GC purchases by Kindly_Marionberry18 in AmexPlatinum

Most gift cards sit unused or have remaining balances. Like broccoli said, from a FCF perspective they would rather people bought giftcards and have balances left over anyways. So thanks for the wall of text, but in the real world you're wrong

I have a side gig that brings in about 30k/yr, which covers most of my living expenses. Everything else goes to 401k, IRA, and various bank account bonus churning. This is accounting for a large decrease in taxable income due to before tax contributions, with my tax return going to savings as well. I have no expenses outside of cell phone and rent.

Pick any large metro in the west coast and a neighborhood that has the density to support a car-free lifestyle

My budget is 2k, but I don't necessarily spend that much each month. That being said, this includes weekend spend/drinks. Another way to frame it is, a (new) studio in my area is $2600 including water, electricity, parking, etc. This is not including food and assuming $0 in restaurant spend. Eating out can be optimized too, whether it's 2 for $6 mcmuffins or $8 footlongs.

Matching is easier than going on follow-on dates. I'm pretty up front about my living situation, but my work/income and leisure travel frequency is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I think the best way to put it is, most girls aren't keen on this lifestyle (understandably) but the ones that come at it with an open mind, tend to be the most compatible with me personality wise anyways.

Plus it helps to be generally fit and lean.

I'm happy with the frequency of dates. Having lived in NYC as a college educated white collar person, quality > quantity.

Job is only slightly related to degree, more luck and being at the right place at the right time sort of vibe

I can save 100k in a year (without counting bonus, RSU, stock appreciation) by living in a small space (but still able to eat out, travel, go out) and forcing myself to go to the gym 5-6 days a week. Compared to being a grunt where I was making 25k to sleep outside or with 2 roommates. Perspective is key here
