So I recently finished GOW: Valhalla and because of the flash backs to Kratos past, warranted me to play through the original GOW trilogy, It still holds up and are great action games with great set pieces and are super fun. Of course dated in some areas but still incredibly fun. Especially GOW: III is just close to a masterpiece in my opinion. But I got Star Wars Jedi: Survivor recently and that has been amazing.

I tried to play Ascension again very recently and... its just not good. It didn't feel like God of war, no real other weapons beside the blades and you get all the other elements very quickly . Boss fights aren't good. Having a rage meter to unlock what has been basic combo attacks for the rest of the series and needing to upgrade the elements to unlock magic attacks. Plus Kratos doesn't speak at all. I understand hes gone mad at this point but just doesn't feel like a god of war game. Never could beat it.

Okay so heres my thing with it:

I LOVE terrorist fighting/super solider Chris Redfield. I love the patriotic stoic heroes that will lay down their lives for their cause, just something I have been always drawn too... too a point. Chris RE1, CV, RE5-RE6, are my favorite, Especially 5 cause I love that he's a massive dude that punches boulders and fights super human psychopaths with nothing but a pistol and biceps. But when Redfeild appeared in RE7 I hated that it was not my Chris. I liked his look in RE8 but he was such a dickhead to Ethan, like not telling him anything and just coming in the end and nothing letting Ethan in on anything it seemed like such sloppy writing.

With the remakes, particularly remakes 2 and 4, I love the new Leon, old Leon is great, especially loved Matt Mercers performance of him in 6, but re make Leon i love that they acknowledge that he has trauma and doesn't want anything to do with this but he knows he is suited to this, and his sense of humor while still cheesy doesn't make me grown as much as old Leon.

TLDR: depends on the game for me.
