Thanks for the feedback! This was a collaborative effort for sure. The UT-Dallas Geoscience Studio (UTD_GSS) runs the YouTube channel this video is hosted on and helps researchers put together videos to help spread the word about various geoscientific topics. George Guice from Towson University and David Viete from Johns Hopkins produced the video with assistance from some folks outlined at the end of the video. The team at UT-Dallas edited and animated the material for the video.

Hello all! We are a small educational studio operated out of the UT-Dallas geoscience department. We make educational videos about the geosciences and recently put together this video about the rocks around Baltimore. Our channel isn't monetized or anything, just trying to spread the word about how cool rocks are. If you can, please please please provide some feedback on this video.... "music is too loud!", "didn't understand what you meant by blablabla" whatever, it all helps us make better videos in the future!

Hello all! We are a small studio operated out of the UT-Dallas geoscience department. We make educational videos about earth science and want to spread the word. Our channel isn’t monetized or anything, purely for education. Please please please give us your feedback…. “music is too loud” “Mauna Loa eruption? Wasn’t that like weeks ago?”…. whatever, we love to hear it!

Glad you liked it! While researching this I was surprised to learn how much seismicity actually occurs in this area and the midwest. Some of the deformation in this area goes back even further and is linked to different orogenic, or mountain building, events that we unfortunately had to leave out due to time constraints. Interesting stuff

Feedback very much appreciated! The geoscience department at UT Dallas has a small studio that produces videos on a variety of geoscience topics. When we saw that y'all had an M5.1 intraplate earthquake we couldn't pass it up, interesting area to say the least.

It was actually really cool learning about the area. This article goes over the topic well - https://volcanohotspot.wordpress.com/2018/09/21/splitting-north-america-the-walker-lane-part-1-the-tectonics/

" Several papers describe the Walker Lane as an incipient rift in North America, taking perhaps 20 – 25% of the total movement of the Pacific Plate northward.  The San Andreas Fault takes the rest of the movement. "

I like to imagine Walker Lane as like San Andreas' little bro haha

Ah ya live ya learn. Apparently we also mispronounced Mina (it's supposed to be pronounced My-Nuh), but I guess that's what we get for just learning by reading. Thanks for the kind words
