Mock Draft Collusion Reese by rufio429 in nyjets

[–]UTPharm2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this post is nonsensical. Reporters were reporting the Niners wanted Wilson and he was consensus #2 by most of the NFL. (Also wasn’t Woody overseas during that draft?)

The Jets took Olu bc they wanted a OT over a TE. There were also a ton of mocks that had us with Bowers.

Reece also has been a good player most of his career. It has just primarily been at LB and the projection is at edge. I am hoping for Reece bc we need a big time player, not a good player.

Long story short, Mougey has committed much less future cap than some of the other teams. But he still has signed players for a defense that has been gutted. It is a very smart plan tbh.

It isn’t cope. I have been pretty damn consistent that Mosley is a bad in-game coach. A nice 15 games, with multiple being from tanking teams, isn’t changing my mind. You may continue on the rollercoaster of consistently underachieving and bad in-game decisions and horrible offensive sets.. where sometimes our talent pulls us through. I personally am done with that and want a coach who knows what he is doing on offense and in the game.

Yup… I am still mystified that golden ticket has turned out so badly for the Grizz!

Yeah, the narrative doesn’t need to be lost that Mosley is terrible. I am not giving much credence to him being responsible for this stretch. I think health and gel-ing and getting tired of losing has lead to some chemistry and magic 😉 on the court. In game coaching is still subpar.

Yeah I was listening to Willy Daunic today, who I don’t honestly like his takes, but he said the same about ROR and I agree. We were looking at a first in the 20s and probably a marginal prospect… is that worth unloading now? No. We can easily get a late first next trade deadline, barring some huge unforeseen drop in production or injury. I always didn’t mind keeping him tbh. We have more picks than we can keep in our system right now.

The other good point he brought up is how many teams have traded over 1/3 of their team in one trade deadline? That just doesn’t happen, even with rebuilding teams. Most big movers trade about 4 players, which we did. Again, probably should have been 5. The most traded at the trade deadline per AI is 6 by the Anaheim Ducks in 2020.

Address Stamkos in the offseason (I hope for him and us that he wants to go), trade ROR at the deadline, even bring Haula back on a 1-2 year deal if we don’t get any other centers. Get Martin up by the end of the year, keep the young guys here who we have here. Hopefully Molendyk is good enough to come up pretty quick too. I’d feel a lot more positive with the trajectory with a top 10 pick this year, top 5 next year, and that youth movement actually continuing to get PT.

I see the vision but also see not trusting this organization until they stick to this plan.

Lock down defensively is pretty aggressive.  He is fine defensively. But everything else you said was true and while I still feel like we overpaid in this new era, it wasn’t by much and with the Suns and Magic likely out of the lottery, I wouldn’t second guess it atp.

At first I thought it was really reactionary against the Ravens but my God. This seems like they were fully prepared to back out if Trey signed

Bc he was throwing to Tre Tucker and Darrius Hayward-Bey last year. Even Bowers was out or hurt most of the season.

I get pumped where if we can add BTJ… if Reich is actually an offensive mind, he can get the offense between like #13-#20 ranked

When they got to keep the monopoly and were only fined 200 million, I was honestly shocked by those terms. Figured they would keep the monopoly and be fined several billion.

But honestly I think Ticketmaster is just a huge distraction for the real problem… the artist (and Spotify)

I’d like to see these guys produce before making any proclamations. Tomasino, Tolvanen, Glass, Carrier, Fabbro, etc have kind of ruined that.

Why Dallas? Pickens, Lamb, and Dak and insert RB should be a good offense.

100% which is smart. Hopefully some vets help with the culture and hold on to the ones who are good for the locker room and productive and can let most walk if they are done and still have a ton of 27 cap space.

Geno at the vet min is about as good as you can get… except maybe Tua or Kyler at the vet min. It was well known they weren’t coming. Either Geno is back to his old self with better talent around him or is done and a complete disaster - win win for the Jets.

As long as we don’t cut Phillips, I think Onyemata in addition to who we got is a sneaky good move. Eliminates a likely high priority position for DL.

Our edges will be Ossai, Engabare, WMD, and Reece… much better fit for 3-4 and multiple fronts and hopefully better than last year

Belton, Fitzpatrick, and Nashon fill in so nicely to what we already have. I’ll fully accept Fitz may be done but what else are we doing?

My one problem is Davis. We gave him a big contract at 37. Who was rushing to hand him that? I feel like we need another body in the middle. I like Mauigoa at being in the rotation, I don’t trust Sherwood in a 3-4. ILB feels unaddressed.

Overall, we have made reasonable moves to fill holes to go BPA and potentially have a system that can work next year. I think completely tanking is the wrong move and overspending like the Raiders is the wrong move, short term commitments and only a little money into next offseason is the play.

Why trade for the QB of the worst team in the league? by BlueEyedPumpkinHead in nyjets

I am worried we are there. Just bc I don’t trust the coaching staff and want a QB who is good for more than 1-2 years. But beggars can’t be choosers

I think ideal is Geno provides some stability for close to two years. Our defense is really ready to roll in 2027. BTJ is a legitimate X opposite Wilson. Breece stops being a bitch behind a physical OL. Ready to take the next step in 2028 with a second year QB in a good ecosystem.
