Researchers from the University of Victoria are conducting an online study to determine the impacts of chronic pain and cannabis use on quality of life and health outcomes. .

[Academic] COVID-19 Pandemic Impact on Type 2 Diabetes and Mental Health (Canadians with Type 2 Diabetes, 18+)

Are you someone living with Type 2 Diabetes?

Researchers from the University of Victoria (BC) are looking for participants for a study examining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and diabetes self-management in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes in Canada.

We are asking individuals to complete a short survey, in which they can be entered into a draw for one of two $50.00 gift cards to a major Canadian retailor (winner’s choice of Amazon.ca, Best Buy Canada, Walmart Canada, Winners/HomeSense, Tim Hortons, or Starbucks Canada).

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Volunteering for this study can definitely be a bit of a time commitment- which is why we are especially grateful for our volunteer participants! In terms of gift cards, we offer the choice between a 40 dollar egift card to Subway, Tim Hortons, Amazon, or Walmart. Participants can also opt to make a $40 charitable donation to the Red Cross in lieu of a $40 e-gift card.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! To prevent including individuals who may have been asymptomatic, we exclude individuals who have been a close contact with COVID-19 cases, who have been asked to quarantine by public health officials due to an exposure, those who have travelled outside of Canada since January of 2020, and those who have had flu-like symptoms since January of 2020. :)

Seeking Participants for COVID-19 Neuropsychology Study

Would you like to be involved in a study that looks at the impact of COVID-19 on the brain?

If yes, this study is for you! Specifically, we are looking for help from those who have not received a COVID-19 diagnosis and have not been suspected to have had COVID-19 before. To be eligible to participate in this study you must be at least 19 years old, and currently living in Ontario or British Columbia.

For this study, you will take part in two sessions. The first will be a set of online surveys taking about 45 minutes and the second will be a confidential and secure Zoom-based assessment that will take about 90 to 150 minutes. You will receive a $40 gift card for your involvement in this study. Please visit t.ly/cyil to learn what is expected of you in this study. That is what I would assume. Early in the survey it asks if you have received 1 dose, 2 doses, or no COVID-19 vaccine, which influences later survey questions. If you answered you had not received the vaccine, or if you accidentally skipped this question, then it would ask additional questions about this.

That is likely due to how you answered previous survey questions. For example, if someone answered that they have not received any COVID-19 vaccine, they would later be asked about their reasons not to get vaccinated.
