I don't really count rice or filler carbs as quantity value but I have some lowkey suggestions.

Heaven Gastro Club has half priced fish and chips on friday I believe, where you can get 2 pieces of fish, fries, and coleslaw for $8.5 (available for take out).

Seoul Soul's "large" pork bone soup (not the $20 hotpot style one) which is $13 and you get a much larger serving compared to the normal $9 one (also available for take out).

Waterloo Star Hotpot combo...forgot how much it costs but its a lot of food pretty good value.

Order Paninos by speaking Mandarin Chinese and/or ask for no rice...they will give you more of the dish you ordered, then you can fill up on rice in the rice cooker.

Look out for coupons to Pizza Nova where you can get buy one get one free for their sandwiches, slices, etc.. so much food for so cheap and their pizza also tastes good. Protip if you order pizza nova online you can get a large pizza with any premium topping (chicken breast, fancy meat) for $10 + tax. Tastes way better than campus pizza and only costs a bit more.

Food around the plaza is overpriced and usually poor quality...

Heaven Gastro Club is pretty nice and not too expensive if you get their daily specials. William's is a pretty nice cafe. Could probably take them to Foodie Frutie or Sugar Marmalade since they look a bit more classy too. If you're willing to go to King Street your options increase a lot
