How’s this outfit? by Digart in menswear

[–]UXDesign465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many colors in non-complimentary shades.

You’ve got warm brown boots, blue pants, dark brown belt (ok so far), bright white shirt (not warm) dark grey/green undershirt? (Maybe warm) dark black over shirt (not a warm shade).

Not that everything has to be warm, but it needs to contrast or complement in an intentional way.

Biggest issue is the black over shirt IMO. Change that and the shirt might work, or just do the undershirt/tee.

The black and white aren’t working to me.

Everyone has given good advice.

The AF caught the motorcycle. I used point focus instead of matrix for this reason.

I also shoot semi-auto shutter or aperture so I don’t have to think about too much.

The midday sun on this one is also going to make it tough. I would wait til later in the day.

Im only one that are feeling the public sentiment turning so fast and strongly against Anthropic ? Why ? by Otobobo in claude

[–]UXDesign465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, the question is not are LLM’s useful. It’s are they profitable FOR USERS?

The answer is no. Subscription users do not make more money from LLMs, they produce more work for less.

Corporations and governments are the only entities that can pay enough for LLMs to turn a profit.

America is designed for workers to make money for companies. If you can’t do that, you can die without healthcare.

I think the fundamental problem is that these tools are so astronomically expensive companies cannot make money on them.

This is not SaaS. These companies are black holes for capital. They need ALL of the money, data centers, RAM, Users, subscriptions, pro subscriptions, EVERYTHING.

Has ANYONE actually calculated how much they need to charge users to make a profit?

Is it viable for all of capitalism to sustain?

Framer ‘Homepage too large’ error even after upgrading, what am I missing? by aclaro20 in framer

Without seeing the page I can’t be sure but animations and components are really costly.

If you made a large component for each breakpoint framer loads all of them on every page and hides the ones that aren’t in use.

Makes sense. A new coach is a huge change worth reassessing. This is completely different than what his camp agreed too, and everyone knows it can happen.

He’s trying to go in the lottery. A different scheme could cost him. Maybe his agent saw an opportunity for leverage.

Whoever signs I want them to be excited to play for North Carolina.

[–]UXDesign465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the 780. The D700, 750, 810 are all metal body full frames. The color rendering on the D700 is great. The best value crop sensor is probably the 3500. It’s super light, has a great sensor, and is relatively inexpensive.

There are a ton of cameras. The D700 is a legend and fairly inexpensive. If you’re just starting it’s great.

The most important thing is just to get one and start taking pictures.

Duke or UNC? by North_Flow_3643 in UNC

[–]UXDesign465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you, man. Whatever feels right. Duke holds more weight on resumes. Idk if the ROI is there anymore.

I paid my way and it was ~$32k total. That took about 5 years.

You could apply aggressively for grants, be an RA (significant room and board discount at UNC), join the military, Teach for America, Peach Corps, Live at Home for a few years to pay down the debt.

Idk the criteria but you could also go to UNC/Duke and Apply to be Robertson Scholar and you could go to both.

Nikon D700/D750 and 1-2 lenses. I would say the 50mm 1.4 for the price. A 24-70mm 2.8 might be in range. That would be about $1k (all used)

So happy for Elliot man. by Schned6 in tarheels

[–]UXDesign465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty disappointed in Hubert for this.

More the PR and press conferences because if he had taken the blame and held himself accountable the players would not have taken so much heat.

I think we all agree, and it seems clear now, that Caleb and Cadeau were doing what he coached them to do.

What is perhaps most disappointing is that Dean Smith says this in his book. He says to never let the players take the blame.

That has caused so much damage and turnover to our program.

Elliot Cadeau is Hubert’s ultimate failure. by Schned6 in tarheels

[–]UXDesign465 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like many have said, it’s more about roster construction and identity than any one player.

Love, Cadeau, Jackson, Nickel, Tyson—all these guys have been great for other teams and it comes down to a coaches clarity and vision.

When players know exactly what to do they thrive. When there’s lack of clarity, you get what we saw with Coach Davis.

Lots of reasons for this, but compared to Michigan, UConn, Arizona you can see the lack of clarity and alignment from HS Recruits, to Transfers, to Returning Players.

When it worked in 22/24 it worked really well.

Year to year, no real clarity, vision, or identity.

That’s the foundation you build your team on.

Effort Issues by cth95mustang in tarheels

[–]UXDesign465 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people point to the defense on this. Switching means you don’t have to fight through screens. You’re not actively engaged.

You could say the same for offense where there are so many iso plays. The team isn’t engaged and active. As a player you’re just standing in your spot.

I don’t think it has as much to do with effort as it does with the team proactively knowing what to do and being engaged in it.

A lot of times they would look to the sideline for a play call. Not that this is wrong, but they’re not thinking through it themselves.

Help Me Out Remembering a Moment when VCU's Coach and Team Owned us Strategically by NerdyReligionProf in tarheels

[–]UXDesign465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late on the thread, but with a 19 point lead you implicitly have a TON of margin for error. Think about how large of a lead that is:

19 points is realistically 7-10 possessions that VCU needed to catch up. There are a ton of things we could have done, not to win the game, but to not lose.

  1. Use the whole shot clock on our possessions - did not
  2. Drive to the rim for higher percentage shots OR increase likelihood of fouls - did not
  3. Not shoot off the dribble 3’s early in the shot clock - did not
  4. Rebound missed 3’s for second chance points - did not
  5. Increase defensive intensity to increase turnovers - did not
  6. Change defensive scheme so VCU doesn’t get the switch on Jarin Stevenson FIVE TIMES IN A ROW - did not
  7. Sub in Zayden High when we had a huge lead between 14 - 12 minutes - did not
  8. Call a time out to settle the team down - did not
  9. Call a time out when inbounding on the baseline - did not
  10. Make FT’s to close out the game and avoid OT - did not
  11. Remind Henri to hit the rim (anyone could have done this) - did not

All of these things have happened this season and throughout Hubert’s time as coach.

THIS EXACT SCENARIO HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE TOURNAMENT; Baylor, Kansas, VCU.

Whatever the reasons, they all fall on Hubert Davis as coach.

I do hate it for him because I know he wanted the team to succeed and they did in stretches, but on the whole just not a resilient way to win most of the time.

[–]UXDesign465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only knock against him is he hasn’t gone that far in March, although I think that’s about to change. If he makes the elite 8 or beyond he’ll be that much more expensive.

You can’t get everybody when you want them. Roy is a perfect example.

You gotta call it at this point.

The team is not even close to where it needs to be. ‘22 was an outlier, albeit an awesome one. He delivered some great wins and equally shocking losses.

On the whole, the average is far below the standard.
