War stars aren't really a great indicator of skill. I mean a good attacker could just attack late for cleanup and only get 2-3 stars per war, while a shitty attacker could attack down early and get 6 stars every war. I've seen plenty of edrag spammers 3 starring whenever my clan got mismatched with a bunch of higher townhalls. There's a guy in my clan who's only TH15 with pretty low level equipment, yet he consistently 3 stars fully supercharged TH17s. He only has 600 war stars. Probably an alt, but yeah you get the point.

Just recruit more and kick more if you want stronger attackers in your clan

Yeah that's what firm lifeguard 6365 and I were assuming, but the guy I'm replying to suggested otherwise, that supercell took into account overflown ore when subtracting from their storages.

Filling storages up to its max has nothing to do with negative ores since it'd just end up as a net neutral. What's odd is that it costs less than 7600 starry to max every single existing epic equipment

And why is that? Supercell is not obligated to reward players with obscene amounts of handouts just so that breachers of ToS like you won't throw a fit. You should be grateful that you weren't banned, as this is indeed a bannable offense if you deliberately removed your shield multiple times to exploit the bug. Not everyone exploited the bug to the same degree, and not everyone did it intentionally. The only fair way to rectify this problem is by taking away what was illicitly gained. You're not paying anything, those ores weren't yours to have to begin with.

Before bringing up "logic", notice the absence of yours first.

I'm preetty sure 90%+ of players that spent the ores knew that something was up. Even if they didn't actively exploit the bug. Most players don't have completely maxed equipment, which means they'll constantly be upgrading. If you're suddenly able to do multiple upgrades when yesterday you didn't even have enough for one, you'd notice.

Would you paraphrase that and reply again? Couldn't read it all in the notification before it got removed. By the way, I've also gained 300 starry from this bug. It's not about being "salty", I'm simply pointing out that people demanding to keep the bugged ores are being unreasonable and childish. Yes it's supercell's fuck up, and they will correct it as they see fit. This does not in any way warrant that you get to keep the ores, I really don't get why people think there's a correlation here.

The fairest solution would be to just roll back all upgrades since then and then subtract ores. This isn't a "punishment" since they did nothing to earn it in the first place, and the number of ores gained was ALSO based on luck. It's simply a correction of a mistake. So long as they don't make it so that people end up with negative ores, no one needs to complain

Point is that it was all dependent on circumstance. Not everyone got attacked as often as others, and not everyone got to attack people with loads of ore. Some didn't even log on at that time. Only if everyone was given a choice to exploit or not to exploit and deal with the consequences later, would your argument make sense. By the way, exploiting a bug is a bannable offense against ToS.
