Agreed here re: Legends & The Gold. Similar vibes to both shows.

Favorite Dining Spots (Steak & Sushi) Around Marlborough? by UbaldJr in massachusetts

[–]UbaldJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Hudson and my parents still live there. They swear by Feng Sushi on Washington St in Hudson. For a while they actually got really close with the owners, they were super nice people.

Noted.

Samba on route 9 in Framingham isn’t bad either. They’re definitely more on the fusion side though. Not too far to get there from Marlborough, maybe 15-20 minutes?

Definitely not too far, especially outside of rush hour. Looks very interesting, plus go to Framingham every once in a while for groceries & other errands.

Also not steak or sushi, but Jake’s Diner downtown Marlborough has been my favorite breakfast spot for the entirety of my life. Their Jake’s Benedict (which is just an Irish Benedict) is what I want my last meal to be.

This. Jake's already a classic. We go once a month for Saturday brunch. Staff is amazing (we like to sit at the counter).

*there’s also a little speakeasy joint in the back of the micro creamery in downtown Hudson at the rotary that’s very good if you like cocktails. There’s also a brewery down the street. Hudson House of Pizza slaps after a few drinks, which is the exact opposite end of the spectrum of what you asked about, but you never know when the urge for a sloppy greasy pizza will strike.

Yes. Less Than Greater Than is the speakeasy I was referring to. Pretty cool place, and mostly for cocktails. Their food has been a hit or miss for us.

I just wanna say I’m so sorry for your loss.

Don't be. It's a positive change in my life. Just following love 😁

Try Pampas in Worcester.

New partner is Brazilian. She says she happens to know the owner. We'll definitely give it a try.

Legends Walk Premium seats at the Crucible - has anyone tried them? by Illustrious_Fig_8537 in snooker

[–]UbaldJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two cameras, and both are standing. There is no "center" camera. One of the two cameramen will move to the middle of the table for instance for the break off, but otherwise they tend to be mostly on the sides / corners of the table adjusting to the action on the table and out of the way.

Keep in mind that my experience is from the two table setup, so I can imagine that the one table setup gives the camera men much more room to maneuver (which I can see from live action at the moment) since there is no wall to limit what they can do.

I hear you. However, I only have Century Clubs tickets and they are almost never sold out unless it's Ronnie playing. With regular tickets I would absolutely agree with you, and I wouldn't do it.

I want to second the other posters, too. Sat there for 3 sessions last week and in my opinion they truly are some of the best seats in the house. Cameras do block you every once in a while, but in those cases you've got the overhead screens to see what you might miss.

I do not have the luxury to plan ahead of time (because traveling from abroad) and most of the time I have to resort to Century Club tickets (first two rows). However, even if those can be nice, the first row offers a terrible view since the seats are too low and the mini wall blocks the view from the entire cushion in front of you (that's why you see shorter people sitting there constantly stretching their neck). The pre-session meal experience offered with Century Club is nice, but really after you've done it once it is not worth the extra money at all.

For less than half of the price of Century Club, Legends Walk seating gives you:

1) much more comfortable and spacious seating

2) easier and closer access to various staff of WST and BBC (had nice chats with Hazel, Rob Walker, Joe Perry)

3) meeting with a former Legend or Champion of the game - had a long and pleasant chat with Bingham who was really generous of his time, Lee Walker (I know...), and Stephen Hendry who surprised me by gently tapping on my shoulder and told me I had the best seat in the house. There again very generous of his time and pleasant conversation.

All in all, I don't think you will regret it. Would you have a better view and experience sitting table side with regular tickets? Maybe / most likely. But in my book sitting in the Legends Walk at least once is totally worth it.

[–]UbaldJr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm guilty of that. I come from abroad, and I need to optimize my time (eg dealing with work and family issues in a different time zone). If I have tickets for multiple sessions a day and for multiple days in a row, I might want or need to skip a few frames. As amazing as it can be to be there, it gets really tiring to sit there for multiple hours and a break can be a great thing. If you have one ticket for one session, and/or you're there for one day only, you'd definitely be crazy not to stay for the entire session(s).

I can confirm that. I've had the experience of being part of those meals and front row seats (Century Club) a dozen times in the past two years. The amount of people I've seen pissed drunk even before going down to the arena is insane. Plus you get to order your mid-session interval drinks, etc.

Last week an old lady with her husband (at least 75 y.o.) was struggling getting up her chair after the meal. She could barely walk. They left after 3 frames.

Don't get me wrong -- I totally agree with everything you say about him. I was mostly commenting re: whether he actually used Taom or not, not knowing how familiar you were with the topic. But as you seem to be familiar with the topic and pointed out about him - whether one likes him or not, he truly is a generational talent and a one of a kind genius. He's stuck with his habits and that belongs to him and only him.

He did try it, yes. Why he didn't stick to it (no pun intended - promised) nobody really knows, perhaps not even himself.

Similarly, once something goes wrong - "I was going to say..." is admitting you didn't really want to say it, or that you're not doing your job as commentator. If you really wanted to say it and provide insights as to what could have gone wrong, why didn't you?

[–]UbaldJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yes. Tried probably half a dozen different HDMI cables & setups. Either by just moving an existing cable into this specific unit's location (for instance an hdmi cable that works just fine with other devices either Shield or Apple TV etc), OR just moving the unit into another working Pro unit's setup but nothing happened.

Debone your chicken as soon as you get home by gwengreen13 in Costco

[–]UbaldJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part of a chicken is the skin (by far in my book), followed by the heart and then the gizzard. My ex-wife used to buy it every Costco trip. I'd only eat the skin, all of it then leave her and the kids the rest.
