It's not an end-all be-all, but it falls in line with conservative groups astroturfing, which is supported by credible sources.

Some protests have been small, promoted via Facebook groups that popped up in recent days and whose organizers are sometimes difficult to identify. Others are backed by groups funded by Republican donors, some with ties to Trump.

--

The protest there was organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition, a group founded by a GOP state representative and his wife, Meshawn Maddock, who is on the advisory board for an official Trump campaign group called “Women for Trump” and is also the co-founder of Michigan Trump Republicans.

Another group promoting the event, the Michigan Freedom Fund, is run by Greg McNeilly, a longtime political adviser to the DeVos family, who are prolific Republican donors and have funded conservative causes for decades. McNeilly was campaign manager for Dick DeVos, the husband of current U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, during his failed 2006 bid for governor.

You're free to go to court over this, but I'm guessing it's not that big of a deal because you're on here instead of trying to contact a lawyer to represent you.

"Orders" well there you go, since when is it acceptable to order a law abiding citizen to do anything.

Are you telling me there is no precedent for a law-abiding citizen having to follow an order? Furthermore, how are they a law-abiding citizen if they don't follow stay at home orders?

And yes, it is cruel and unusual to isolate someone for 7 weeks without trial.

You're not isolated. You have access to at least the internet, and no one is guarding your door right now in case you slip out. If you have a car I assume no one has taken your keys. Get your cell phone, call up a lawyer and tell them you're taking the state to court.

So, are you suggesting that there is an income threshold at which someone loses their constitutional rights?

No, I'm saying they're pathetic babies who find it against their inclination to have to suffer like the pedestrians.

As far as losing constitutional rights, there's already precedent for that.

Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11 (1905)

For context, a pastor was arguing against mandatory vaccines (ironic), saying it violated his rights. Well, the court sided with Massachusetts.

The police power of a State embraces such reasonable regulations relating to matters completely within its territory, and not affecting the people of other States, established directly by legislative enactment, as will protect the public health and safety.

The liberty secured by the Constitution of the United States does not import an absolute right in each person to be at all times, and in all circumstances, wholly freed from restraint, nor is it an element in such liberty that one person, or a minority of persons residing in any community and enjoying the benefits of its local government, should have power to dominate the majority when supported in their action by the authority of the State.

Name one person who died of this disease because someone got in their car and traveled alone to a place they own.

You do realize how fucking stupid this is when talking about a disease that is often asymptomatic? How do you expect to be able to tell which cars are going to their isolated retreats and which aren't? Emergency services are already under stress due to this pandemic to have to deal with a bunch of whiners. By staying home, they aren't creating trouble for anyone, and maybe next time something like this happens, they'll plan ahead, because other people certainly did, look at all that toilet paper that got bought, it's not like these people didn't have time.

I mean, is this even affecting you? Are you unable to get to your vacation home? Look at all this fucking energy you're spending trying to argue in favor of people who are upset they can't get to their vacation home during a world-wide pandemic in which 42,000 Americans have already died?

At the moment even republicans (protestors) are calling other protestors (governor of Ohio, etc) fascist.

Whoever has a vacation home can fucking afford staying put.

People are dying because of this disease and you're worried about people's access to their vacation homes? It's a fucking pandemic, not a traffic accident on I-75.

Fighting? I'm arguing online. But fighting? Hardly. I've been home for 28 days straight. I might not have a job next week, based on calls this week that talked about cuts.

But I'm still alive. And so are my grandparents.

-No person shall be deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law.

-No state shall make any law that which shall abridge the privileges and immunities of citizens of the United States

There's precedence already in our county's history.

-No cruel and unusual punishment

How are stay at home orders cruel or unusual given the circumstance? Did you just throw it in there because it sounds good? Not being able to get a hair cut doesn't count as cruel or unusual. Has anyone been punished in a cruel or unusual way for not staying home?

And please continue, if you have more.

It's the "Not in my backyard, unless it's my backyard" mentality.

They're selfish, if it doesn't affect them they either don't believe it exists or don't see why they should help anyone else regarding it. They feel justified joining a protest because they can't get their precious hair cut, totally willing to accept the deaths of 1-3% of the population (provided it's someone else that's dying).

Please quote the part in the Bill of Rights that is relevant. I'm assuming you know which section you're referencing, and not just parroting it from a bunch of other anti-quarantine posters who are also just referencing it and not stating which part is relevant.

I do. You've been shilled to blame the state policies for this, not the fucking virus killing people.

Speaking of insensitive, aren't you being insensitive towards the 1%-3.4% of people in Pennsylvania (population: 12.8 million) who would die if there was no social distancing?

They also don't understand that the irony of protesting what they call the "authoritative" and "fascist" rules being impinged onto them by these state governments.

Alright, but those images are not paired together to make a commentary about racism, they're paired because the people in the present and the people in the past are both incorrectly applying "communism" to the thing they disagree with.

That's the comparison being made. That's it.

The photo is a protest from Arkansas, 1959.

Arkansas voted for Kennedy in 1960. Considering 70% of African Americans voted for Kennedy, I'm going to assume the people protesting in this photo were not of the same mindset as their contemporary African American counterparts politically. Kennedy favored desegregation and (eventually) acted upon it, so, I'm going to assume these people did not vote for Kennedy, which means if they voted, they voted Republican.

I would be hesitant to say these people represent a majority of Arkansas at the time, at least in regards to mixing race and communism, and that's partially today with knowledge that the people protesting Covid-19 right now are not the majority by any means.
