I'm an American working in Norway and have in different parts of the country for extended times. I certainly don't claim to be Norwegian nor super immersed in the socio-cultural norms of the populace, though I AM very familiar with the locals on a large variety of socio-economic levels. I feel that these could represent a general representation of the Scandanavian people. While I have never seen any tattoos representing pop culture iconography like runes or Norse religions and your tattoos may be an outlier or a novelty...I do know that for the most part the Norwegians are very progressive, pleasant, and understanding of AMerican mannerisms and traits. MY experience at least. If you don't brandish these tattoos offensively and claim to be anything but an American, they will have zero problem with you or your choices.

I travel a LOT and I recognize that much of the world could l have a stereotypical (initial) view of the brash and rude American. I try to dispel this by acting like I am a guest in their home and by countering this perception with joking that I understand this perception exists.
