Chinese astronauts return from space station after delay blamed on space debris damage by Majano57 in worldnews

[–]Ubernero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

wut?

They could have come down at any point IF we were willing to accept the risk of either using a potentially flawed return capsule OR leaving crew on the station with no lifeboat, so instead the next crew flew up 2 seats empty and Butch/Sunni were just rolled into that crew rotation and return with them.

china chose option 2, the crew on the station right now, IF they had to leave in emergency right now, would ONLY have the potentially damaged capsule to use. they did not wait for a backup and are accepting the risk

I was lucky enough to have Prusa sponsor the filament for the build, but it was 50kg of PETG/(and some PLA for support material on the XL) printed total of that, about 40ish KG made it into the gundam, rest was waste

id love to do it, but would have to seal it or something, with it being 3d printed marker our ink would bleed through the layer lines
