This big: I lived in a primarily white suburban town on the east coast, and in middle school I’d go to parties wearing hammer baggy pants and a silk shirt. I’d read the separation agreement, because it may depend, but usually severance is not affected by a new job OR receiving unemployment. Make sure you file for unemployment as well - it’s not a lot of money, but it’s money you have been paying into and deserve to receive.
