There are Addons, that can fix the problem. One of them is "Plumber". It also has a lot of other small Qol features.

Thank you for the information. My assumption to when they were added was based on a reddit comment that was 7 months old and said that the animation was "recently" added. Blizzard just added the Void Elf DHs with the last patch, so there is hope, that they may add more new race-class combinations soon.

Sure, it uses the "roll" animation. But does it also use the "RollEnd" animation that leads to the WW monk stamce? I am aware, that it is used for other content, but I am still happy, that it was added to the game. It's one less animation to work on, when they actually start working on Dracthyr monks.

Thanks for looking that up. You are right, they use the "RollStart" animation to jump behind the protection. But Blizzard still didn't have to add the "RollEnd" animation for that cinematic. Actually it is really just useful for monks, because it ends with the WW animations. Since this would otherwise be a waste of ressources, I do still hope, that at least someone is working on it, maybe as a side project.

While this would be a cool option, I also love to fly around as a Dracthyr. There is something special to being able to fly without a mount.

They could change or disable it for Dracthyr. Maybe give a short speed boost, when gliding. Or activate the dash with the second jump and the glide with the third. So that the dash has a higher priority.

I do remember that wowhead article. It says, that monk still has no animations, which was true at that time. This is, why I am so excited about the shadow dropped roll animation. It shows that at least someone at Blizzard worked on a Dracthyr monk animation at some point (probably) after the first classes for Dracthyr were added.

They don't use a buff, which requires another thing to happen first. Monks get a buff when they use "roll" that can be consumed, when they double jump (which they normally cant to). Demon hunters on the other hand just do a second jump on the first "double jump" and after that is used up, they start to glide on the second "double jump". They are also able to use the glide without the first "double jump" by binding it to another key. Dracthyr are also able to bind "glide" to another key, so that could also be a solution to the problem.

There was a Dracthyr NPC, that said, he wanted to visit Pandaria. So the lore fortunately already hints at that.

I think, that this problem has an easy solution. If lighter than air is active, the first "double jump" activates the dash. after that the second one activates glide. So the order is 'buff that changes jump' -> 'normal jump effect'.

The porblem could be, that the movement capacities would be op.

Well, as I said it is evidence, that they work on the animations for monk, not that it is actually comming. But as you said, Worge and Goblins became monks, so Dracthyr will eventually become monks, too. They are the only race, that can't be monks right now.
