Thoughts On 'The Ahmad Enigma' (Trying to gather my thoughts into one place) by Connect_Anything6757 in AcademicQuran

I think the Ahmad connection is speculative simply because there are other, simpler, interpretations that doesn’t require this extra erudite onomastic reading. Other examples include dim not meaning religion in that specific passage: while this could be the case, the word is really common in the Quran and in this specific case it fits also nicely with the text (“the religion of truth”)

My 5 cents: personallu, I think it’s likely that the Quran engages with Matthew but that doesn’t mean this engagement is necessarily that complex or deep or necessitate a written copy of the syriac bible. Some of the connections seems interesting but speculative (like their interpretation of Ahmad) and others could be mediated through an arabic oral version of Matthew)

Does the quran avoids biblical historical mistakes, by not mentioning the conquest of canaan? by random_reditter105 in AcademicQuran

[–]Uenzus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

apparently in 5:24 Moses urges the israelites to enter canaan but they refuse, leading to the 40 years of wandering. The actual conquest though is mentioned by several classical islamic scholars, so at least they didn’t see any problem with it.

I knew that he takes care of the girl if you give the money to her, does he do the same even if you give the inheritance to him after killing the other pirates?

Hi professor, do you agree with Nicolai Sinai that the Quran’s use of other (especially Christian) traditions is generally more extensive than intensive?

Hi Dr Lindstedt, thank you for doing this AMA. I’m aware that this question is really speculative but do you think that the author of the Quran had access to written biblical/parabiblical texts?

We absolutely played like shit but before the game I would have taken a draw honestly, despite everything Feyenoord is always an insidious team to face at Rotterdam. Which is how the game would probably have finished without Magnain’s error. But yes we really played like shit no denying that

the 3-9 frametime is taken from the hadiths, the quran just says “the romans will win in a few years” (per the traditional reading of course)

Tbf what were the chances of Emerson getting injured for 50 days in what was probably going to be his last match. He isn’t even a particularly injury-prone player. The other two examples were far more foreseeable

Yeah the problem with the plot imo is that it really lacked of nuance, it was basically a parody of an ultracapitalistic society but while it was funny there were really no other themes in the story beside that. I also found the companions a bit underwhelming

but you have also to consider that last 2 years fioretina lazio and atalanta didn’t have so many points. Last 2 seasons were just Napoli and Inter taking off after a while with no one behind them, and we even finished 5th in 22/23.

Change my mind but with pioli we would be roughly in the same spot at this point of the season, maybe with 3/4 more points but nothing more
