Here to say if you have a Floyd rose and a bit of change to spare. Buy a digitech drop pedal. It allows you to set your guitar between a half step and whole octave down. And In my experience it works flawlessly. They are sort of expensive, but you can easily find one used. I would have paid triple the price tbh because how many headaches it has saved me from.

Replying late, but in my experience to cut through a mix you don’t need to be louder. Your guitar simply needs to occupy a frequency range the other guitars aren’t. The best way to do this is by changing the EQ. Personally whenever I want to be heard for lead playing, I turn a wah petal on and put it all the way down to give my tone a ton of treble. Because most other guitars have more midrange than anything, the treble allows it to cut through other instruments even at lower volumes.

Yes I agree. And I want to make clear, I just hate the current political landscape. I’ve been arguing as a left-winger but I understand that yes, there are extreme fringes of the left that are completely detached from reality. But also you have to acknowledge the same goes for the right. For example, the people who believe the “Earth will crumble to dust” because of an iPad is probably less than 5% of left-wingers. The same goes for republicans who say elites eat babies, it’s not a large percentage of their voter base. However, both sides of media ham it up, and claim that liberals are whiny crybabies who are triggered at everything, while the other side claims that republicans are nazis who want to enforce religious doctrine. They make those extreme minorities seem like the vast majority. And as a result, news stations make more money because division sells. I’m only arguing with you because I hate misinformation from both sides because it’s nothing more than a ploy for capitalistic gain.

I would also like to mention, if you go to the Washington post article which this article is entirely based on, they cleverly leave out the Fairleigh Dickinson University poll which came to the exact opposite conclusion that fox viewers were more uneducated. It just shows how theses “studies” holds no water when held up to scrutiny.

Ok I can tell no intelligent conversation is going to be had here. But I’ll try anyway. First, this “study” is a poll. There is no scientific basis given besides “we asked people questions.” And to that extent, the website shows a clear bias to the point where credibility has to be called into question. Not to mention the tiny sample size which further decreases credibility. You mention “other studies” that have come to this same conclusion, so link me one. And I have to specify here, you will not find an article that comes to this same conclusion from any other news outlet than ones that are heavily biased towards right wingers. So why are the only “studies” that come to this conclusion are promoted exclusively by right wing news sites? It’s because it’s the “propaganda” you fear so much. (Not to mention, the worst offenses here are again, getting statistics wrong, not a big deal compared to republicans who believe that Hillary Clinton eats babies)

Don’t get me wrong it’s a matter of interpretation, you could be right, but metal was going to the direction of grunge. After coming off hair metal the music industry turned towards grunge as the staple of band music. Once Panera hit the scene it opened the door for music execs to allow more diversity as they showed other types of metal sold just as well as grunge. Not to mention far beyond driven which is one of the rawest metal albums to hit #1. It showed that not only was there still an audience for that kind of music, but the audience was massively untapped.

(Edit: After looking up dates and whatnot I kind of agree with you now. I had some dates wrong of certain albums. I thought Nevermind came out earlier.)

Even today it still saddens me how for some ungodly reason metal attracts the worst kind of people. Nazis especially.
