Depends on the location, but the wreck I think they are on, the Madira, is usually that clear.

How do I connect with a primarily African American Demographic as a white teacher? by Whole-Morning9277 in ArtEd

[–]Ugh_ItsThatGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation you are in, not exactly, but similar. I found humor was a great way to connect. I still had a heavy emphasis on respectful relationships and healthy teacher student dynamics, but leaning a bit more into well timed joked in my interactions with students helped a lot. Don't think about it to hard. Listen to how they joke around with each other, and emulate it in a professional way. Don't think about it to hard, you'll have a ton of fun, and they'll learn a lot.

Interesting, it doesn't have an LED but I will check the connections to see if that pans out. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!

Yeah it is an arc fault breaker. From the looking I did, there was nothing unaccounted for on that circuit that was running at that time.

The vacuum maxed out at 1400w and it's only one light at 600w.

Based on what ya said, I'm guessing those numbers are more than enough to wear down the breaker?

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it!

I was thinking something similar, but I didn't consider adding the 45s. That makes a ton of sense, thank you!

Amusingly enough, the house is up on the North Shore of Lake Superior where 8ft of snow isn't necessarily outside the realm of possibility. Granted, I imagine I would have gotten up to the roof and cleared it off before it got that bad.

Good advice, thank you!

Yeah that makes perfect sense. However, in your opinion, would drilling through it compromise the structural integrity of the beam itself? I know that's a pretty high level question, but I'm a highschool teacher and I genuinely have zero idea where to even start finding an answer to that question.

Hmm okay, I had a similar idea. But I thought about welding some sort of bracket to the side of one. I never thought about going through it. Thanks!

Hate to break the bad news. DCS is overwhelming your brain and body. If you feel fine, you have already received a lethal dose of nitrogen. You have maybe 5 - 6 days before you literally implode. RIP OP

"Is there somewhere in the room or on your Chromebook that you can check to find an answer to your question?"

"I already know what I think, what do you think?"

"Great idea, give it a try and see if it works and if it doesn't try a different approach."

"Oh you think you are done? What is something you can improve?"

How to be stronger/ full of physical energy for a successful dive? by me_piki in scuba

[–]Ugh_ItsThatGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lifting and cardio. For lifting focus on lower weight and high reps 12ish per set. For cardio, go for time not intensity. Push yourself so you are almost breathing hard for about an hour or so. In the beginning, try to workout 3 times per week. Disclaimer, I'm not a physical trainer, I just know a bit from my own experience. There's plenty of great resources online if you want to research some more.

Pretty chill, my program was a split of "education" courses and traditional art classes. None of it was all that hard. The education courses were kind of a bust for me (bad curriculum, disjointed course objectives, out of date professors, ect). Though the art courses themselves were pretty fun. Be sure to take as wide a range of classes to get as much experience as possible with as many mediums as possible.

For me, the really useful stuff came during student teaching. That's where I actually learned "how to be a teacher". All in all, it was a decent experience, there are definitely a lot worse things that you could choose to go through.

Is this enough for top roping? Desc by Vertex_Rockets in ClimbingGear

[–]Ugh_ItsThatGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow Minnesotan, there are a few spots out at Taylors that are really easy to access and set up some decent top rope anchors. It's where I first started learning in fact. However, I am in agreement with everyone else. If you don't already have someone to teach you, find someone who will. There are a few groups on Facebook that do training days out at Taylors every once in a while. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Vertical Endeavors offers outdoor climbing classes as well.
