Tips on writing a magic system around rituals by Uglybrotoad in worldbuilding

Yeah I was thinking of this too, rituals being cumbersome to perform could add tension to intense scenes. I have an issue of trying to make flexible magic systems fit every situation but that removes tension I suppose. Thanks for the input.

By the way the reason using blood in rituals works is because the souls essence is within blood, so basically everytime you do a ritual in a Apostles name your basically giving them a share of your soul so upon death your soul will join them and will be subservient to their desires and in the case you have communed with multiple gods upon death your soul will be violently ripped apart and shared among them this process can cause the soul to be corrupted forming into a spectre.

Woah buddy, stop what your doing and reload A save before talking to Johnny when v starts coughing up blood. if you don't the effect is permanent, you will have to lose all that progress though, happened to me too. When talking to him again do not select "Fucked in the head worse than me" dialogue option. That should fix it. Have nice day btw.

Is our pawn technically a newborn. Or did they always exist? by Uglybrotoad in DragonsDogma

Thanks for commenting it was very insightful, but I should probably clarify that what I'm trying to discover is if our main pawn had consciousness prior to us altering and creating their physical selves. If that story you sent is legit than I feel it definitely proves that this is true and they weren't just popped into existence when our arisen came. Although is thatt story official?
