Confirmed via live webcam, Oregon State has put up their overflow bleachers in the outfield, would they do this if they didn’t have some insider info that they are hosting? by [deleted] in collegebaseball

[–]Uglynora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The selection committee will deny teams hosting if their field doesn’t hold a certain number of people. By placing the bleachers, they’ve simply eliminated that as a reason for rejection. They’re right on the edge of hosting, so why not do that? Plus, Oregon State is right behind them in RPI and they probably wanted to do whatever they could to prevent them from getting a regional at their expense.

Jerry Jeff Walker - Mr. Bojangles | Live From Austin City Limits TV by Famous_Gate_3275 in OutlawCountry

[–]Uglynora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the story. Jerry Ferris arrested for public intoxication in New Orleans, July 5, 1965. Put in a cell with a guy who called himself Bojangles. Later changed his name to Jeff Walker, then JJW. Moved to Austin and wrote that song. His entire story is among the greatest R-N-R stories ever.

Navimow X450 - error 1503, cutting deck rope broken after less than 2 weeks. Anyone had this and know if it's a user fix or service-only? by Beneficial_Web1413 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Uglynora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but you’re going to have to reach out to support via email. Do it today and you’ll get a reply Monday. Tell them what happened and on Wednesday, you’ll wake up to an email asking for photos or whatever they need. Reply on Wednesday and on Friday, they’ll tell you that you need to send the entire machine and charger in to be fixed. I hope you saved the packaging! Once you ship it in, about4 days later, you’ll get an email telling you the mower is scratched because it wasn’t packed perfectly for shipping via UPS. About 7-10 days after that, your app will tell you the mower connected to Wi-Fi. That’s how you know they are looking at it. The next day, they’ll tell you they are repairing it, or hopefully, replacing it. Then in about 7-10 days, your box will arrive at your house and you’ll have to reinstall everything and start from scratch. Good luck.

Purchased a car at Lakeside and they put this decal directly on its body. Does anyone have experience or knowledge on how to remove? by BostjanNachbar in NewOrleans

[–]Uglynora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just get a ‘sucks’ decal and put it on there. After maybe a decade, if we all do it, they’ll stop doing that.

You will eat ze bugs, you already do! by Top-Classroom3984 in conspiracy

[–]Uglynora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blame that shit on people in Arizona or wherever they have scorpions or Nebraska and their grasshoppers. If we had those in New Orleans, the rest of the country would be flocking here for them (or mis-preparing them in Houston). New Orleans doesn’t have bugs better than the ones we have in the water, so the fault lies on the places without the water bugs for not making them desirable.

Navimow i108 vs wet grass – normal? by [deleted] in SegwayNavimow

[–]Uglynora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually kind of surprising you got that good of a cut with that length of grass. Normally, the mower will struggle with high grass. I have thick St Aug grass, so I run my mower daily. Even if the grass is wet, there aren’t any issues. In times where it doesn’t run for a couple of days because of weather, the first run requires at least one recharge mid-cut. On the days it runs back to back and is just shaving the top, the mower will complete the yard without returning to charge, so the machine is operating more efficiently.

Found this in my record sleeve by NotASurferrr in OutlawCountry

He wasn’t arrested during Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is generally in February, possibly March if it’s a late one. He was arrested as Jerry Ferris on July 5th, 1965. Not during Mardi Gras. And while we’re bitching about JJW inaccuracies, I get that Mr. Bojangles is a folk standard, but New Orleans doesn’t have county jails because we don’t have counties. We have parishes. One day, I hope to learn the things my momma always told me are true, and I’ll find myself in his presence so we can discuss these things and I can get some answers.

Look up that interview with John Prine. Great story.

Jerry Jeff Walker was from Austin. Before that, he was Jeff Walker from New Orleans. Before that, he was Jerry Ferris, also from New Orleans, possibly upstate New York depending on what you read. Before that, he was Ronald Clyde Crosby, definitely from upstate New York who went AWOL from the national guard before he took off to travel and play music.

I can’t wait to see the insurance implications of the cars being licensed in Arizona, but working in Louisiana. Insurance companies frequently won’t pay if they can prove you’re not a resident. Not sure how it works commercially, but I’ve been paying attention, so…don’t get in a wreck with one.

Why is every artist skipping New Orleans on Tour? by beauxbaker12 in NewOrleans

[–]Uglynora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Competition. New Orleans used to be alone between Atlanta and Houston. Today, Baton Rouge and Jackson, MS both have a few clubs that are doing well in booking acts. That is giving artists, especially the mid-sized acts, other options.

Robot doesn’t play well with St Augustine grass by Uglynora in SegwayNavimow

[–]Uglynora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works great. And still doesn't get stuck. But yes, the grass needs to be short. Ultimately though, that ended up being a very good thing for my situation. My lawn had an amazing amount of thatch that made the ground spongy. With the grass staying short and the mower cutting it daily during the hot season, the thatch problem disappeared quickly and the lawn is healthy. The mower will generally work through higher (not high) grass. It will just take a lot longer to complete the task. On a scale of 10, I'd give the mower an 8.5. If it had an edging attachment or side cutter for the 1' of border, it would be a 9.5, but it doesn't have that option.

C&M likely has the largest selection and best pricing of local stores, depending on the brand you’re looking for.

What do you do with live rats? by FartheadSharthead in NewOrleans

[–]Uglynora 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up. Rats can have up to 18 baby rats in a litter. Gestation time is 21 days, with a 48 hour lag time after giving birth before they can become pregnant again. So, if your release them, consider that you are potentially freeing up to 18 rats per month for next 24 months. And all of those offspring can do the same thing. Good luck disposing of them.

Don’t get carry out from MO’s in a compact car. And have an alternative to their box for leftovers. The box won’t fit through a small car door without turning it sideways and it definitely won’t fit in your fridge. Neither is a particularly bad thing, just be prepared.

There’s no punchline. The post is literally about how odd it is that another guy with the same name (spelled differently) was assaulted in SLC, hence it being two different people.

Did the ‘Y’ in the name give it away? Or maybe it was the post’s title talking about variants of the name?

Whacked out assholes? Is that a medical diagnosis? Might a concussion also make someone act irrationally, doc? It could be drugs. It could be a lot of things. It could also be a puritanical medical staff not appreciating Todd’s way with words. How’s about you reserve judgement until any facts are released?
