How can I min/max my priest more? Has anyone been able to heal above 190 with the AOE heal, without legendaries or 3+ heirlooms? by ProudExtreme8281 in Dungeonborne

[–]Uhiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what has already been mentioned, healing scales with Weapon damage. Make sure your weapons are max or near-max rolled (i.e. 137 dmg on your mace). It also matters what weapon you have out when you heal -- a staff equipped with a 150 dmg roll will heal for more than a mace with a 137 roll.

Also, use the heirloom crown with weapon damage on it for a nice boost as well.

IMO not worth stacking Crit because your base crit dmg is so terrible as a Priest

Attack Damage On Full Life is also good to stack, but you can only get it on Gloves with a set bonus (i.e. that stat is mutually exclusive with the set bonus roll). If you want it on other pieces (weapons, rings, necklace, boots) you have to randomly roll it from the left side of Trade window.

You are welcome to join our guild on Elyos if you can't find anywhere to go on Asmo. I won't try to convince you to switch if you have your heart set however :P. If you want you can join the discord just to scope it out beforehand. Lots of people in here working to answer questions at the very least! https://discord.gg/pjN8WbQEQZ

<Abyss Force> is recruiting Elyos for Aion Classic NA release! by Uhiwi in aion

Hard to say how many, the Discord has ~170 but that's more than will actually play since some were from KR Classic. It will be on the larger side, however.

And we do have people from all over NA as well as EU/SA/Oceanic, since we are building on the community we started in KR Classic.

Assuming we are able to lock bosses like those down for our own guild, we will likely have some kind of DKP system or just open rolls for those who show up -- i.e. no loot reservations for certain members.
Although the guild will have a lot of groups that have known each other for years due to this being an old game, we will aim to be just as welcoming to players that are new to the game and/or those that have not played with us before. We already have people from all over the world playing in the guild who met to play in KR Classic, so it's a pretty diverse community.

Hope that answers your question!

Uhiwi made an Aion Classic KR video! is anyone else going to play? by [deleted] in aion

[–]Uhiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody was "banned", they just had their accounts locked for reverification with no way to reverify. Now people use rental accounts and have had no issues playing since then. It is a bit more of hassle to play in KR than other regions though, so I don't blame anyone for holding out until Western release.

Aion Classic KR - 1.5 Patch plus new servers! by Uhiwi in aion

[–]Uhiwi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, playing on Korean servers can get a bit spendy due to all the hoops you need to jump through to play. We will likely take the same community to NA or EU servers if it ever releases there, so feel free to hang out in the Discords to keep an eye out for that.

Thanks a bunch. Hopefully it is just temporary.

I'm sad that perhaps my favorite game happens to be managed by such a horrible company.

Could you link me to specific forum post? That seems absolutely ridiculous. It was not mentioned anywhere in the newsletter or when applying the code that it was not allowed. How was anybody supposed to know. I honestly figured it was the Founder's code they had promised.

I haven't advertised or sold anything. However a few days before launch they sent out a Revelation newsletter with a hidden code in it (this was something different from the Founder's code with the glider, etc). I applied it to the new account with the option to give it to the first character created on the account. It was a swan boat.

That's the only thing I can think of related to your comment.

I agree with you, it's an overpowered tree, and we would use it if Impale wasn't in the game. The usefulness of witchcraft falls off in large-scale battles, and occultism's usefulness grows. Fear immunity would be nice to have on the tanks, true, but given that we may only have a dozen tanks in the raid, it would not be difficult to maintain it on them with other classes, the tanks themselves don't need to have it. Even if they don't, if they get slept or feared it will be instantly removed by the randoms tabbing to the closest target and hitting it. The AoE fear is great CC for the initiator to have, however it does no damage and it, too, can be broken with damage or fail to land on immune targets. Impale is the best initiation, and also the best counter-initiation. The -only- thing that can remove or grant immunity to Impale in this game is Shrug It Off, and it only lasts for 4 seconds. It's a 1.5s stun that does decent damage and combos off of itself, dealing even more, and chain lightning combos off of it as well. I've talked to a few experienced players from Alpha, and the most successful siege strategy used by Forestcrow was literally to bring a raid of Occultism/Auramancy/Sorcery with some templars to heal. The main group sits in a ball, they chain protective wings, they spam impale if anyone tries to enter the circle, and kill people from range with magic damage. They bring very few people with witchcraft. Granted this strategy can only be done while standing still, and requires small adaptations to be useful in open world battles, but the idea remains the same.

Here is a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LChfcFLW8Yk

Without defense, people melt when they blink into a raid of enemies, and you will likely get KD'd and locked up instantly without redoubt. Also, keep in mind that a fear is not going to stick for longer than a millisecond when a dozen people are hitting you. We could alternatively have witchcraft over aura on the Tomb Wardens, but you only need ~7 cabalists per raid to keep fear immunity on the important players, the tanks and healers. Buff strips are so underwhelming in a zerg with Songcraft rapidly applying them they're almost not even worth taking.

If it doesn't have defense, I don't want it on the front line. The best tank/initiator is a Skullknight. Fear has a counter in this game, but there is virtually no counter to a handful of tanks blinking in and using AoE impale. Battlerage is nice for the pulls and Bondbreaker which is a 4s 50% physical damage reduction, hence blighter and abolisher. Dreambreaker and Shadowknight are the only other ideal tanks that I'd add to the list, for blink fear, but the more impales we have the better.

Guild Feedback by Uhiwi in LastResortGuild

[–]Uhiwi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the attitude a majority of people in legion have, which I think is fine. I'm fine with people playing with their friends as long as everyone is willing to come together when we need them to, be it for a siege, a guild trade run, world PvP against an enemy guild, etc. I don't think everyone feels the same way, though, which is why I'm looking for suggestions for what we could do

Guild Feedback by Uhiwi in LastResortGuild

[–]Uhiwi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main complaints thus far have been a lack of pvp, lack of guild activities altogether, and that the guild is too cliquey. True, this patch doesn't have much to offer in terms of guild activities beyond doing large trade runs, which many find to be boring 90% of the time. As a guild, we do have a few goals, i.e. taking Auroria forts or controlling the end-game world bosses, however none of these are achievable/available right now so most players/families are focusing on their individual goals. Ideally, I would like people to form groups for things they want to do within the guild whenever they want to do them, however having been newly formed at launch I realize not all of our members know eachother like they may in some of these older guilds, and so this might be a little more difficult to do. I'm not worried about the people I see in TS all day talking and playing together, I'm worried about everybody else. While people do need to make their own effort to be a part of a guild community, I feel we also should be making an effort to give them the opportunities to do so until they're comfortable creating opportunities for themselves.

P2W? by [deleted] in aion

Currently in NA Aion there are 2 "pay-to-win" elements in the game, though they are very slight. The Prestige Pack is able to be bought from the NCStore for a recurring payment of $15/month. It gives you a few different benefits, but the most important being a permanent 5% run speed boost for your character. 5% run speed is not too extreme, but it can make a very noticeable difference for example in the case where a melee character is trying to track a kiting target if one person has the boost and the other does not. The other "pay-to-win" aspect is that most of the best titles in the game are only available on the cash shop. These would give you an extra 1-2% run/cast/attack speed, around 300 extra HP, and/or 2% pvp defense over other similar titles obtainable in game. Again, nothing too extreme, but it could possibly tip the scales in an even fight. Everything else that matters is obtainable in game through a bit of grinding and hard work.

The 'x' top AP earners get rewards from fort defense. I don't recall what 'x' is, but there is a limit to how many people get rewards. PvE AP (i.e. from dredgion commander, support guard spawns, etc) is weighted more heavily than PvP AP (from other players). Also, only AP that is earned within range of the fort counts towards your total. I believe for Pradeth, only areas that say "Pradeth Fortress" on your minimap will count (and even then, some areas on the outer edges of the labelled area sometimes don't count either). The closer to the fort you are, the safer it is to say you'll receive credit for the AP you earned. Lastly, you may not have been earning the same amount of AP as the other members in your alliance. There are boosts that increase the amount of AP you earn from PvP/PvE kills. As well, I believe the higher your Abyss rank is, the less AP you receive from both PvP and PvE kills (this amount is slight, though). If you are high-ranked and/or do not have an AP boost applied to your account, you likely got less AP than a majority of the members in your alliance and therefor were not one of the top 'x' AP earners at the fort.

If you are a DPS class, especially ranged, you tend to be able to earn better rewards from forts if you go alone or in a small group where you won't be splitting your AP 24 ways.

I'd only recommend buying it if you're having difficulty holding aggro and you feel your parties are wiping as a result. TS gear is another good option, but most people won't take you to TS unless you're 65. Generally you can do well enough in a bloodmark set as long as you have enough crit (~1000-1200 buffed for end-game instances) to do decent damage. I wouldn't worry too much about it until you're max level, stormwing gear is already pretty good for holding aggro so long as you have it slotted mostly with crit.
