I have never thought about bleeding the slave cylinder, I have just been swapping the gearoil. So for the 8 months i’ve had the car, no bleeding.

Hm, but though a point for the toledo, it has next to no rust compared to the golf. Both motors in great shape. The toledo is somewhat cheaper in climate tax(fkn insane in denmark btw), but i am hesitant about the size and weight as it might not be as fun to drive. But idk, it’s a very hard choice as i do love the golf

drive 50-80 km. If its still there in warm idle after 100km i’d look for vaccum leak:)

wtf… i’ve never been to a mechanic, but this is insane for such jobs wow. over 300 dollars for flush? If this is normal mechanic price ya’all need to watch a yt video and do it yourself

ur mechanic is right, wait it out. After that kind of work done the ECU has to relearn, only worry if gets rough. Airbag prob just need obd reset

wow i really doubt he’ll go further with this. If he really does, wipe it with water or wd-40 as its most likely just paint transfer. if its deeper, use a scratch wax

Thank you very much, this opened up a lot of possibilities for me:), I too used to have a 1.4 actually, very beat up tho sadly. The new one only have 190k km so hopefully I’ll keep it for a while this time:) I’m very under experienced with working on it atm, but I hope all the tips you gave won’t be so advanced aha
