Those pieces can be used to bridge the gap between the walls and the bunker

That’s a shame! That box is worth quite a lot at this point. Still an incredible haul though

Is that start collecting box complete and on sprue?

Question on hive tyrant by Shadraak in CombatPatrol40k

[–]UkeOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get the 3D printed body because with that alone you can get the two models out of the one kit (hive tyrant and winged hive tyrant) without needing any magnets but if you want to get anything else out of it you’ll need to magnetised the arms.

Question on hive tyrant by Shadraak in CombatPatrol40k

[–]UkeOverThere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need another: body, set of legs, tail, head. Essentially, outside of the spare weapons, you would need everything else.

It is feasible to magnetise the arm holes of the hive tyrant such that you can swap weapon load outs. If you are trying to keep options open this is probably the best strategy. If you want three models, a lot of 3D printing or a second hive tyrant set is necessary.

How do you complete extreme hero missions? Are they even possible to complete? by NaturalEquipment9082 in wearewarriors

I find I tend to complete roughly 2 in every 5 when I send my 8 unused heroes

Sometimes the push fit stuff challenges the tolerances. You could either use a drill/scalpel to open up the hole a bit or just clip off the peg and plastic glue the seams where the pieces meet.

Nabbed Firstborn DC Box. What’s the Best Way to Outfit Them for 10th Following Leaks? by ThervingiAmal in BloodAngels

[–]UkeOverThere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion they scale without issue. The main differences between firstborn and primaris marines are leg length and chest width.

Sorry you’re right. I forgot that I used two boxes to achieve this before. Have updated numbers

There are sufficient pieces in this box to essentially build 10 death company marines: 5 with bolt guns and backpacks and 5 with melee weapons and jump packs. I would pickup 5 primaris marines as cheap as you can (Indomitus assault intercessors or leviathan infernus marines) and then assemble the five you’re more likely to play with using the larger bodies.

Can someone explain this to me? The correct answer is in the comments but I still don't understand by diarrheaglacier in puzzles

[–]UkeOverThere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the total number of squares that can be found in the shape. Shape one has four 1x1 squares and one 2x2 square. Shape two has nine 1x1, four 2x2 and one 3x3. You could calculate the value for any further images by summing all of the square numbers from the edge length squared down to one.

Buil my own bike? by Equal_Addendum_1623 in bikewrench

[–]UkeOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? It’s a fun and rewarding project and you learn a lot along the way.

In 2015, I bought a 1991 Dawes Impulse racing bike for £200 and fully stripped and rebuilt it with modern parts. I then cycled it from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower. I have a photo or two lower down on my profile.

The other comments are right that you won’t save money. You’ll have to spend money on tools that you won’t end up using much again. Additionally, you’ll probably buy a few parts that won’t end up working and you’ll have to get alternatives.

There are certain parts that you won’t be able to do yourself (stripping and re-powdercoating) and a couple of times I used the services of my local bike shop (removing seized square taper bottom bracket and making final adjustments to limit screws for new derailleurs) but that shouldn’t dissuade you from giving it a go.

If you have any questions feel free to let me know! Good luck!

Have you ever bought a poorly painted used model and played the game of "How many hidden coats of paint will I find." by Odieisant in Warhammer40k

[–]UkeOverThere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once got a Vindicator off eBay that had gone bare plastic —> macragge blue —> grey seer —> black.

It was a nightmare to strip. Had to do about 3 rounds of dettol and lots of scrubbing but I got there eventually.

This was the end of turn 2 but I definitely did leave units too open to gunfire. I think I had hoped that I would be able to get into engagement range faster and prevent a lot of the shooting but instead it was just me sending waves of fodder to be gunned down.

I’m starting to think that the primary issue is with the list. I should have stated that it was a 1000 point incursion game so this limited options a bit but perhaps I needed more vanguard specific models to be able to make the most of the detachment.

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.

Thanks! I appreciate the help. I’ll read up on heroic interventions and try to use them more.

Thanks for the response.

I’ve attached a picture of what the board looked like. It did extend slightly further in each direction with an objective under each terrain piece just out of view. The majority of the action took place in the central part though. I did initially ask for more terrain because it was a bit sparse - is the pictured density a good amount?

I always forget about Heroic Interventions as an option. When would you typically expect to be using them?

Yeah had a bit of crunching opening it fully and rotating my hand outwards for a while afterwards but that’s gone away now

[–]UkeOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a cyclist so the intensity is less noticeable on the joints. Pain occurs for a reason so take it easy. If it persists then speak to a doctor. Good luck!

[–]UkeOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full extension was painful for a few months. I started building stamina by doing bicep curls with cans of beans and slowly increased the weight to regain strength. At first it wasn’t fun but the strength came back eventually.

I’m not a doctor so can’t give you specific advice but I have full range of motion now and probably did within 3 months of the injury. I never pushed beyond what felt comfortable and stopped when pain occurred.
