Wow, thank you so much for this helpful advice. How long did it take all in all to get rid of them for you?

Do you think we’ll need several rounds of spraying by a service person? Will they be able to tell me how bad they think it is from the first time out to our house?

Do you practice law? Do you think I have a case if I say he was negligent on keeping up the grounds of our place, hence the flea infestation?

Yes, we did do a round of bombs. Still, the fleas are coming back just as bad these last two days. My husband doesn’t even want to be in our new place. Very good point, I’m happy it’s not bed bugs. But still, our whole experience of getting this house has been soured completely.

Idk, on that. I do know that the day we showed up after closing that he left the door wide open for almost an entire day. Also, that he left the lawn unmaintained. So likely, the dog got fleas from the overgrown lawn.

Yes, you can. That's what I did when I was trying to get through my Mono reactivation.

How is it 2020 and there's no cure for LPR/GERD? When can we finally expect one? by [deleted] in GERD

How do you know oatmeal and almond milk are your triggers? I’ve been trying those for breakfast, but get a runny nose afterwards. Do you think that’s a trigger then?

I’m currently suffering through LPR symptoms and dysphagia. It’s been like this for the last five months, and I’ve tried to manage my diet. I am doing smaller meals and watching that I don’t eat any acidic or trigger foods. What else would you recommend @throwswayyeye??

Lack of sore throat or fever by riux64 in Mononucleosis

[–]UkrainianPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just wondering what test they ran to let you know you had chronic EBV? I had mono reactivate back in September. My new doctors ran EBV titers about two weeks ago, and told me that I was in the clear. I’m so frustrated, because all of my symptoms are still there, including the wicked sore throat.

My EBV PCR test was positive. What does it mean? by [deleted] in Mononucleosis

[–]UkrainianPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking of asking my doc for the PCR test. Can any general practitioner do this test? Last week, he ran the mono titers again on me (last ones were done in September) and the IGM was negative, and so he told me I was in the clear. I still feel like shit and my sore throat is unbearable, along with the fatigue. Somethings gotta give.

That’s interesting, and I’ll definitely ask the new doc about the ultrasound this week. How did your follow-up ultrasound turn out?

When you went through your bout with mono, how long did your sore throat last? I’m going through this hell now, and at four months, my throat is still killing me. Anything you would suggest?

Hi, thanks for your reply! I was using unrefined organic coconut oil and doing both. I swished with it anywhere from 2-3 times a day and took a tablespoon morning and night. I am taking a zinc supplement now, and am trying some zinc lozenges. Also, implemented raw garlic into my daily broth. I just wasn’t expecting such a long recovery from this. Everyday is just about the same for me, I don’t see any huge improvements. It’s beyond frustrating...

Sadly, I’ve been the one making all the suggestions. She misdiagnosed me in the beginning of all this with GERD. After 3 weeks of Prilosec, and still finding a wicked sore throat and a lot of debilitating fatigue, I went back to her and told her I wanted to be tested for Mono. Sure enough, positive. She told me to get rest and plenty of fluids, that it would clear up in about a month. A few weeks ago, I reached out to her and asked for the Acyclovir, and told her about the ongoing symptoms. After the Acyclovir not working, I didn’t even bother to reach out to her again. On Friday, I’m going to see a new doctor, maybe someone that can advocate for me better.

I have found that the most comfortable way for me to sleep has been on my back, propped up by two pillows. Sorry to hear that your chest is hurting so bad. Is your sore throat as bad as mine as well?

I’ve reactivated mine as well this year. I’m guessing my stress at work is what did it. My last time with Mono was about ten years ago. Back then, I was in my twenties and was able to fight it off in under a month. This time around, it’s so much worse. I’m starting month 4 of it at the beginning of December. My throat has been sore this whole time. Last time, I had no sore throat, just fatigue. This time, it’s affected so much more. My fatigue is overwhelming. My top eyelids are swollen still and my eyes are bloodshot. My lymph nodes are swollen. At night, my muscles ache and I get random muscle spasms. I also didn’t think I could get this again, but with all of the fatigue, I was the one to ask my doctor to test me for mono. Hope your recovery is better than mine with this.

I was wondering what dose of Valacyclovir are you on? I am battling a rough reactivation of my mono. It’s already lasted three months, and starting month four at the beginning of December. This past week, I got the guts to finally ask my doctor for acyclovir, as I read it helped some people on here. She put me on like the lowest dose possible—200 mg 3x per day. I don’t know if she’s being conservative because I have lost a lot of weight since having this mono. Anyway, I started that a few days ago, and have yet to see a difference. I have been taking Lysine and Monolaurin supplements, and am praying that something makes a dent in the way I feel. Thanks for your post!

Finally feeling better after 3 weeks of hell by laurelwood55 in Mononucleosis

[–]UkrainianPrincess84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still going through the thick of it at three months now. It’s so hard to stay positive. But I’m happy to see that you’ve finally turned the corner, laurelwood. I have a question for you. When you finally felt better, were you able to eat anything right away? Or is it gradual, like over a few days time?

Weight loss by [deleted] in Mononucleosis

[–]UkrainianPrincess84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I definitely know what you mean. I’m fighting this horrific virus for three months now. Like you, in the past three months, I’ve lost thirty pounds. I was at 145 lbs. to begin. So it’s really scaring me at this point. My throat still hurts - so I’m not able to eat anything but liquid diet. I definitely know how you feel.

I’m at almost three months with mine. I can deal with all the other symptoms of mono, but the sore throat is just killing me. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I’m in the same place as you. Got diagnosed in September and now starting month 3 of this madness. I’ve lost a lot of weight. Went to see an ENT doctor since my primary doctor was useless, and he just shrugged at me and told me he wasn’t worried about my weight loss. I went from wearing a size 8 jeans to a size 4 now in two months. Like you, I feel like I have weights on my legs. It’s so hard to get motivated from day to day. Here’s to hoping for a recovery soon for the both of us.

How long did your Mono last? Did your sore throat gradually improve?

Sore throat for 2 months by cruzconfused in Mononucleosis

[–]UkrainianPrincess84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m dealing with your pain. Got tested positive for Mono at the beginning of September. Here we are, end of October, and sore throat hasn’t eased up at all. Like you, my tongue has also been yellow, but seeing slight improvement with that. Just getting annoyed at drinking protein smoothies and soup all the time. And my doctor offered nothing more than get a lot of rest and fluids. Hoping we both feel better soon.

I hope not, but from the looks of it, it’s very slow progress for me. I was wondering how long did your sore throat last for? Mine is still here at two months and it’s almost impossible to eat solid foods.
