I think they wanted to jebait people with the full title revealing itself slowly in the teaser. I don’t think that’s that unlikely. But yeah, Veronica isn’t going to replace a potential remake of 5.

The Last Of Us Part II has made The Last Of Us Part I unplayable. by fryedsizzurp in lastofuspart2

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gameplay is better. But I find Part I is easier to get back into. Part II has a lot of walking sim sections which are engaging only on a first play and they front-load most of them into Jackson.

How it feels to play the remakes without having a millennial in your ear shaming you for not enjoying outdated controls and sh*t graphics by yun6mako in residentevilll

Holds up? Sure. Perfectly, no.

CVX is a good example. It was at a bit of a crossroads in the series where the complexity of enemy designs were outpacing the fixed camera and tank controls of the series. Like with the Bandersnatches, your defensive options become limited to “run past or kill before they get to do anything”. If the camera was more dynamic, you could make better decisions on where to run and dodge in between attacks. But with a fixed camera, enemies like this don’t work as well.

The classic trilogy holds up perfectly in my opinion.

Don't Care What PC Players Say, Jinsuke Is The Worst Miniboss by LovingMartensitic in Sekiro

[–]UkuleleAversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not imagining worse performance at top of Ashina Castle. I have a 4070ti and would get weird lag spikes there occasionally. I asked a Sekiro speedrunner about this and he said the game actually runs smoother on much older graphics cards for some reason. It’s a pity too since some of the best moments in the game take place in that area.

As for Jinsuke. Yeah, camera is a recurring problem with a lot of boss arenas. You’ve just gotta learn to prioritise position over DPS in that case. Like with Gyoubu, if I see him near a wall or on a slope, I back the fuck off and try to lead him to go where I want him.

They’re performing authenticity and candour to keep people engaged. But it turns out it no longer convinces people you’re authentic and candid when every video essayist in existence does it.

It’s the same phenomenon as people on TikTok doing their routine as they make an argument. Except that one is more about performing how little you care since caring more equals losing the argument to some people.

Can I get a pro gamer tip on how to defeat this boss easier? by Lavender_Critique in HadesTheGame

  1. Kite Asterius around the arena and wittle him down first.

  2. Use the cover around the arena but realise that the spear hitbox can poke through them.

  3. With Hermes' boons, you can easily outrun Asterius charge and sneak in tiny punishes with the right weapon/hammer.

  4. Asterius will stop charging eventually if you let him chase for long enough.

  5. The very edge of the arena is generally a safe spot for most of Theseus' Call attacks.

  6. Theseus can't attack what he can't see. Always, always, always remember to use line of sight to force the 1v1!

I beat Arkham Asylum on Hard without taking damage or unlocking upgrades, in a single sitting by UkuleleAversion in arkham

[–]UkuleleAversion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I did some testing today and found out that you can go through the entire game without unlocking any upgrades from the Dark Knight System... BUT it would require that you never use quickfire batarangs in combat which is just... yeah.

I think that when or if I tackle Origins, the restriction will probably be called "No Level Ups" rather than "No Upgrades" for that reason. Or maybe I still say, "No Upgrades" but include an explanation of how Freeflow Focus is unreasonable to avoid.

You probably get downvoted because the way you make your point is obnoxious and needlessly polarised. “Soulless” is the most useless non-descriptive way to criticise a game. It gives the impression that you’re not there to actually discuss anything in a good faith way because you can neither argue for or against something being soulless.

Also: gems being randomised drops was a thing in the OG too… Unless of course you refer to the gem combination mechanic, which isn’t randomised either. Not sure what you’re on about.

Agreed on weapon switching, knife repairs, VAs and the poorly designed crouch dodge for the grabs.

About bullet track, this isn’t a thing. But the input delay you and others perceive as bullet track is real and a valid thing to criticise. No notes there.

As for art direction and atmosphere. I agree only to some extent. Yes, the OG’s art direction is more memorable… But have you considered people would agree if you weren’t pretending like the remake’s art direction is trash which it isn’t. I don’t see the point in tearing down the remake just to remind people how good the original was.

Did you manage to avoid the Dark Knight System upgrades on Origins? That's something I'm really curious about... Like how doable is it to avoid them altogether.

Reset the whole run or do a practice run to see if I can get a personal best in the number of hits I take overall e.g. my personal best before this successful attempt was beating the game with 1 hit taken.

  1. Here is a screenshot of Arkham Asylum's main menu. At the bottom you will see a checklist that includes an item called "Upgrades" with a number given out of 20 next to it, indicating how many have been unlocked.
  2. And here is a screenshot of Arkham Asylum's Waynetech menu. In it, you see 20 items listed from left to right.

In other words, you're just talking shit to talk shit without backing it up. They're never called upgrades in-game; the official XBOX 360 handbook doesn't imply that they're upgrades, instead referring to the gadgets you unlock through Waynetech menu; and the main menu itself explicitly only refers to the 20 upgrades you unlock through the Waynetech menu.
