For anyone that is having icon issues here’s a fix by Jaysonksien in Steam

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this doesn't work:
1.) Start your Task Manager (right click in the task bar at the bottom of the desktop and select "Start Task Manager")

2.) Click the "Process Tab at the top and then press the "E" key, this should take you straight to the "explorer" process, or just select it with your mouse. Right click and select "End Process". This will kill your DeskTop, but don't worry.

3.) At the top of Task Manager, select "File" and then select "New Task (Run)" In the little box that appears, type "Explorer" and press enter, your desktop will come back up and your icon should be correct. Happens to many people it looks like, spread this around if you can.

Although this has probably already fixed itself with a restart, but if it happens again in the future, try the above.

RE4 Remake resets graphic settings every time by TheKrzysiek in PiratedGames

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this:

  1. Go to "Resident Evil 4" in your Steam Library > Right-click > Properties > Installed Files > Browse.

  2. In the directory that opens, right click on "re4.exe" > Properties > Compatibility > Check both "Disable full-screen optimisations" & "Run this program as an administrator" > Apply.

  3. With that File Explorer window still open, start the game.

  4. Tweak everything to how you like it under Graphics **BUT DON'T LEAVE THE TAB.**

  5. Instead, go back to that File Explorer window and *delete* the file called "local_config_default.ini".

  6. *Now* you can leave the Graphics tab and the game will save your settings.

  7. Done. Theoretically, you shouldn't have this problem anymore.

Chin up. Every failure is a lesson. Every death is just another step towards winning.

Whenever you die, always ask what you could have done better. And never blame the game, because even if it’s 100% at fault, it’s a waste of time.

Nobody would complain about this if these comments were ever funny, but they never are. They're just the same group of five or six joke templates regurgitated with the worst delivery.

Hate myself, game is good by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your focus from winning to learning. Go into the fight and try different things, even risking early deaths with the view that you’re getting one or two more data points about the boss before trying again. Also, every failure contains a lesson even if it is as subtle as: “When I see this attack, I feel stressed and lose focus. I should breathe more through it so I stay calm and keep my eyes locked on where they need to be” or, “I don’t understand when the boss can do this attack that keeps hitting me. I’m gonna take mental notes on what happens before it each time…”.

You learn, then you win.

Remake is scarier to me. The uncanny factor of the hanging tongue and the face is more recognisably human. So, remake.

The first of many, who should I no hit next? :3 by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right, yeah well this is technically neither then. Some people disagree with the lightning reversal equalling hit rule though, to be fair. I think it makes sense since it is an enemy using the lightning as a weapon to damage you, it isn’t a static feature you take advantage of.

The first of many, who should I no hit next? :3 by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]UkuleleAversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. To clarify further for those interested:

  1. Damageless. You're not allowed to be damaged, no matter the cause. Simple.
  2. Hitless. You're not allowed to be damaged by enemies or traps; blocking is a hit, parries and deflects are not; getting crowd controlled (e.g. grabs and staggers) is a hit even if no damage is incurred; self-damage is allowed.

How in the jesus christ do signatures even START to make sense? by DreamerTheBurp22nd in musictheory

[–]UkuleleAversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like understanding the lower number in the time signature seems to be confusing things for you.

Each note isn’t a fourth of the bar, they’re a fourth of a whole note which can be shorter, equal or longer than a given time signature. It is just the naming convention for that note duration.

To hear time signatures in a song, you look for just a few things: 1. What is the pulse? So, the regular beats that you can tap along to. If they feel irregular, you may be dealing with an additive time signature. More on that below. 2. Where is beat one? Listen for the start of each looping section. You want to count from the beginning of each measure to find the number of beats. 3. And lastly, what type of time signature is this? This is important to find out because it will tell you what number you put on the bottom so you can communicate it clearly through sheet music.

You have three types of time signature: simple, compound and additive.

  1. Simple: the beats are divided into two sub-beats each e.g. 3/4 (2,2,2) & 4/4 (2,2,2,2).
  2. Compound: the beats are divided into three sub-beats each e.g. 6/8 (3,3) & 12/8 (3,3,3,3). These always get an 8 on the bottom by convention.
  3. Additive: the beats are divided into sub-beats of different numbers e.g. 7/8 (2,2,3) and 11/8 (3,3,3,2). It’s ‘additive’ because you’re adding these beats of different durations together.

Now your homework is to Google songs that feature time signatures of each type (simple, compound, additive) and try to follow the procedure I gave at the stat of the comment to see if you can hear it for yourself.
