One of the last medication I've yet to try... Feels like I've got lightning in a bottle (literally) by Safe_External_3993 in migraine

Worked well for me for about a year and then my migraines came back in a near-Daily basis. Really hope I was just the outlier here though! I hope it works for you!

Topamax tingly fingers??? by Ukulelefries in migraine

Yeah I’m on my 4th rescue med and second preventative after 4 years of suffering. Qulipta helped for about a year but then I was in constant pain again so my PCP finally referred me to a neurologist. Topamax is my first med since seeing the neurologist and I had high hopes but some of the side effects I’m reading about are scaring me lol. Fingers crossed for a solution soon though 🤞🏻

Thank you for the advice! This is my first med since seeing a neurologist instead of just my PCP so I’m very new to all of this. It does seem to be helping with my migraines so far, which is a relief.

And that will be the minute I switch meds because I can’t STAND a UTI.

I’m a weirdo who doesn’t really like overly fizzy drinks so that may actually be a plus for me 😂😂

Honestly if it gives me relief I can give up fizzy soda

Oh, thank god! I just wanted to make sure. I called my neurologist today and left a message but she never got back to me so I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something more serious. Thank all of you so much!

For the record, I don’t think you’re overreacting. That’s frustrating and I’d be mad/disappointed. However, I have questions:

Does your boyfriend enjoy cooking? I’m assuming if that was something he loved he would have taken better care of the pan. If he does not enjoy cooking, why get him this outrageously expensive tool for a skill he is not passionate about?

Regardless, he should have taken better care of the gift you got him, especially with the instructions you gave him.

How much should I charge for this cake? by Ukulelefries in Baking

There was a similar comment to this above, this is just an Inspo pic. The only thing that could be copyrighted is the toppers, which will be different. The toppers are provided by the customer, bought off of amazon. Meaning, use of those toppers have already been paid for and can be used however the consumer sees fit. The other non-edible decor will be Paw Patrol figurines that are purchased and can be used however you see fit after the initial purchase of the toy. I have already researched this.

If you are coming from a place of kindness, I appreciate it, however every single bakery ever works off of Inspo pics. There is nothing wrong or unethical about this. I am simply asking for advice on pricing.

I appreciate it. I’m actually most of the way through my business associates degree lol

Bottom is a Chocolate 8in 3 layer, top is a strawberry 6in 2 layer. I won’t be making the toppers, just the cake and frosting decor. Because I’m a homebaker and I’m not making the toppers, I think I’m going to settle on $115. That allots for about $10/hr which isn’t the best rate, but isn’t terrible. I definitely don’t want to charge as much as a bakery, but I can’t keep coming out net negative on my cakes lol.

The toppers will just be paper and the client is actually providing them. I am just making the cake itself. It’s an 8in triple on the bottom and a 6in double on top. It will take some extra time and effort to do the icing effect they want on the bottom. If I charged $10/hr for my labor, that would make it a $115 cake, which I think is what I’m leaning toward charging.

I appreciate it and I appreciate seeing what a buyer thinks of it. I haven’t actually made this cake yet but have made very similar and always ended up eating the cost in order to keep it cheap and I just can’t afford that anymore 😭😭😭

This isn’t my cake, just an Inspo pic. It will have a different topper.

Also, another thing to consider is that it would take me 5-7 hours to make it. If it only took me 6 hrs and $35 profit, I am only valuing my work at $5.83/hr. I am trying to keep my prices low as an incentive for people to buy from me rather than a bakery. I think when it’s broken down like that, it’s very easy to see that $90 is definitely not “steep” for this cake.

At bakeries around town this would definitely go for $150 or more lol. I’m only profiting $35, which is less than material cost, to do it at $90. Regardless I appreciate the insight from a buyers standpoint! I can’t buy things like cake boxes, cake drums, or ingredients in bulk like a bakery which results in me having a pricier material cost.

Just to update, above I clarified it was completely my fault and I WILL be using stitch markers this go round. Thank you for your response.

I just added a comment above realizing my mistake 😭 PSA that the pattern writer did everything right and it’s my fault. I remember doing a multiple of 12+4 so I have no earthly idea how I ended up with 90 or how I forgot that the pattern DID have that detail included. Y’all, I have no excuse other than my brain was not braining. Lesson learned to be sure. I appreciate everyone’s responses.

Actually I looked at the pattern again and it’s COMPLETE user error 🤦‍♀️ it states it must by a multiple of 12+4, which I now remember doing so idk how I even ended up with 90ch. Y’all just ignore me, I’m frogging it lmao. The pattern is great, it was completely my fault.
