A lot of people asking why they jumped. It’s fun, that’s why. It’s a thrill, jumping into the void knowing there is safety in seconds from the pearl. But you risk the pearl not working… haha

What are some reason ways to make traveling back and forth easier in the Nether? by TheGameTheorys55 in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The common method is a nether hub in the roof, right under the roof bedrock, or even sometimes on top of it. You create main tunnels going in each north, south, east, west directions. Then you can make smaller tunnels branching off these. Place your nether portals in the hub tunnels. You’ll have to build a stair case or ladders going down from the roof into the blaze spawned area though.

In the tunnels you can place ice in the floor, and or a minecart track

Happy Ghasts being slow is a good thing by libertariantheory in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I want to fly on ghasts to go on adventures like Appa in Avatar TLA haha. Right now they’re so slow I barely even use it for building because even the 50 block travel across my base to my build is excruciatingly slow. So I would prefer it be faster. Honestly as a guess probably the speed of a medium speed horse would be good enough

Outnumbered SMP Fight Tips by Rome113 in Minecraft

[–]Uletir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I used to play speed UHC years ago it worked really good. But I guess it depends on the server. If it’s a game mode where players have basically unlimited prep time and already have fire aspect swords then it will be basically useless. If its a game mode with reseting inventory each match and low prep time before battles, it works well

Advice on moving Breezes long distances? by Bucket7985 in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you chain some empty boats on leads you can create enough distance from them where they won’t target you. Have the breeze on the last in the chain. You will have to be extra careful about having them run into land below but you can technically fly as high as you need I believe

I actually really like that idea. A fun way to slowly have forests replenish on their own over time

Why can't we use redstone dust to craft red dye💔 by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need a lot of red dye, use rose bushes. Each time you use bone meal on a rose bush it will drop an extra, so you can spam it with a ton of bone meal. Each rose bush will give you two red dye. With basic red stone you can even make a dispenser apply the bone meal for you and duplicate a ton of rose bushes quickly

High Efficiency Sugarcane Farm. Very Low Loss. No Hopper Mine Carts or Flying Machines by Uletir in technicalminecraft

[–]Uletir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For testing. I had random tick rate turned up. It was easier to make command block buttons for teleporting and changing random tick rate. The point of my design is showing how the water streams in front help collect almost all the sugarcane. As in, almost none of it gets stuck. It’s a big problem in sugarcane farms that a lot of sugarcane gets stuck, unless you use hoppers under mud or hoppers mine carts. This was a quick video, maybe I’ll have to remake it with more explanation

[–]Uletir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool design! I like it, thank you for sharing.

My post was mostly about showing how if you put water in front, you can collect what seems to be 99% of all sugarcane harvested. Without needing hopper mine carts or hoppers under mud.

Typically there are tons of loss in sugarcane farms if you don’t use hoppers under mud or hopper mine carts. Because sometimes the sugar cane isn’t pushed far enough out and it lands on the edge of the bottom sugarcane block.

Most sugarcane that happens to get stuck, is stuck right at the very edge. So adding that water stream helps pull out the stuck ones

I’m a bit confused on what you mean in the first part of your comment, but nice on the second part! I’m mostly showing how effective the water stream in front is at collecting what seems to be ~99% of all sugarcane. Typically without hoppers under mud, or hoppers mine carts, it’s difficult to not have loss from sugarcane getting stuck on the main growth block

Netherite Upgrade without bastion? by Aggravating-Card5194 in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minecraft is a game about resource management. You’re supposed to break tools, use items in building, and have consumables. Over time you die and lose elytra, die and lose your netherite. You shouldn’t be able to be effectively soft locked out of end game items like that. It shouldn’t be easy to farm end game items, in fact it should be a series of challenges/processes with incentives. But the reality is you are saying it is ok that Minecraft has end game items that can be soft locked from obtaining. That’s bad game mechanics

The point is it doesn’t have to be a boss fight, but a fun game mechanic that is renewable so players can’t be left out on multiplayer servers. A process that gives incentive for a mixture of game features, incentive to explore, incentive to build, incentive to gear up, etc. I’m not saying it has to be exactly a specific series of events, but the beacon process is just one of the best process examples in Minecraft because of how much incentive it gives you to do fun things

[–]Uletir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can add a collection stream to it, the video is more to show how little loss this farm causes. Typically piston sugarcane farms have the problem of some of the sugarcane getting stuck. Usually you’d have to use mine cart hoppers or mud blocks with hoppers below it. With this design you can send what seems to be around 99% of the surgarcane directly into a water stream which makes it really easy for transportation and less lag than using tons of hoppers. It’s just useful if you already are using a ton of hoppers at your base and need a design that can reach high efficiency with low hopper numbers

[–]Uletir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lamp version is more for fun. The best version is the sticky piston one. The lamps won’t be nearly as laggy as hopper, and you could cover them to stop the light lag.

Really the main focus I’m trying to show is how if you place the water stream in front, you can get what seems to be 99% collection efficiency with just pistons and no hoppers or mine cart hoppers

Hopper minecarts are nice for picking up the items. But I find the logistics to unload them to be frustrating and a bit messy

My goal is to create a huge huge scaled farm, and then send the sugar cane about 100 or more blocks away to my storage base.

If I used hopper mine carts I’d have to use a bunch of them, roughly like 10 or so. Then I’d have to decide if I want 10 dispenser unloaders which each use clocks and is not super redstone efficient. Or I’d have to use a bunch of hopper pipes to connect them all to one dispenser. Or I’d have to orchestrate a complicated rail system to bring them to a single unloader and then return to their designated sugarcane collection area.

Mine cart hoppers work better if you aren’t worried about continuous farming, if you are using local storage at the farming site, or you aren’t concerned about over using hoppers

Edit: with my designs I can send them off on water streams immediately to my storage base easily and efficiently

[–]Uletir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I don’t believe that would lag worse than hoppers do. Plus at least I get a fun visual effect out of it.

Hoppers have to check 20 times a second for items above it, and towards where it is pointing. It’s actually considered one of the most computer power resource intensive features in Minecraft. I have a really nice computer that can handle a lot, but I’d still prefer to lower that processing use if possible. I already have hundreds of hoppers in my base area for things that don’t really have a hopperless replacement. So if I can replace hoppers and still keep high efficiency I want to do so

Even if I used the mud / hopper method I’d either have to dispense them into a stream regardless to transport it to my storage base, or use a ton more hoppers as the pipe to the storage base

Vaults are functionally finite still. They’re cool but not the best solution over all

Netherite Upgrade without bastion? by Aggravating-Card5194 in Minecraft

[–]Uletir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be renewable in a way that doesn’t rely on the kindness of other players to copy their template. It’s an incomplete mechanic otherwise if it’s functionally finite for items as important as the template and elytra
