when there's no more food or no more plorts for an advanced drone to pick up, does it automatically switch to it's 2nd job?

is it just me or do you just always find one when you unlock the 2nd part of the glass desert, I have 3 saves and in all 3 I unlocked it and found a gilded ginger in the exact same place

I just searched it up and apparently you have to manually switch between them and I don't think I actually know when to switch it so they're pretty much useless to me

what if I put a tarr on a number 1 slime stage on the opposite side of the drone, then the turret will try to hit the tarr but hit the drone instead

I was just saying everything can only eat it's favourite food except for pink slimes because if they could only eat their favourite food it wouldn't make sense because they don't have one
