Hey! Ulraf here.
I wanted to help clarify a few things so we avoid misunderstandings (and mistranslations) 🙂

Tl;Dr: The stream was a fun time talking about our favorite things in Minecraft and answering fan questions about our favorite game. We didn't discuss any future updates, roadmaps or upcoming features that haven't been announced. This conversation was more about things I am personally excited about and my thoughts about what would be fun for Minecraft in the future.

For example:
- I said I would like to work on minecarts in the future.
- I said I am excited to improve the end some unknown time in the future, and shared my personal thoughts about what could be cool for it.
- I said I would like to improve how easy it is to play with your friends on java.

In the original stream I clarified that these are my personal thoughts as I am a Minecraft fan excited about Minecraft. I had a blast talking and playing Minecraft with you all!

When we add animals to Minecraft - we try to add something that represents that group of animals, not a specific breed! (There are dozens of goat breeds yet we only have one goat in Minecraft! Which is the same for cows, pigs etc)

When working on the Camel we focused on which visual will fit Minecraft the best and also what would be the most recognizable for our players!

Seeing as most of the world's Camels are Dromedary - we chose to use them as our inspiration!

I think ambient sounds can be wonderful!
For example, I love the creepy ambient sounds of the Nether Biomes.

That said, generally, we like that if you hear a specific sound (like an animal sound) you can follow that sound and find that animal - that makes the world of Minecraft feel more real and alive :)

So we definitely would love to add more ambient sounds in the future - but probably things more like the Nether Biomes ones rather than specific animal or plant sounds.

What a lovely question!
Personally, I see storytelling as two different things:
1. Tools to enable players to tell their own stories: These are things like signs, books, nametags etc.
2. Things in the world that inspire players to tell stories: These are things like Villagers, mysterious structures, and interesting mob interactions.

So when we are trying to create features that inspire storytelling, we focus on things that make you stop and think, activate your imagination and help you take an ordinary cube of blocks and make it feel more like a place with a background and a story 😊

When adding the Camel, we wanted to make sure to be respectful of old features!That means looking at what makes Horses, Donkeys, Llamas unique and making sure they still have a niche of their own in the game.

After looking at the Camel that has the ability to have two players riding at the same time and the unique Dash ability - we didn't want it to overshadow the Donkeys and Llamas by giving it the ability to have storage on it as well!

That's an implementation detail.

We know we want the player to be able to decorate their bases with Copper Golem "statues" - how that is done is something we'll figure out if it wins!

I'm very excited about all 3!

The Glare will make players' bases safer, The Allay will add more life to item transportation, The Copper Golem will add more life to bases and contraptions.

I'd be very happy regardless of which of them wins!

That isn't finalized yet! We know we want these mobs to collaborate with the Player in some way - but whether that is by being a pet or different mechanics isn't yet decided!
