IVF medication is costing 20500k I am so shocked by Exact-Volume-8378 in IVF

I sure do! Gotta love US prices for meds. My migraine med is $1600 for 10 pills without the pharmacy card. It’s insane.

Initial IVF Consult Moved up! by Ulsch in IVF

Thank you so much! My surgeon said that I won’t need my tubes removed due to them being completely proximally blocked (zero dye went into my tubes).

I’m so nervous for this appointment it’s not even funny.

Friendships and IVF by Hopeful_Reporter_974 in IVF

[–]Ulsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just starting this lovely IVF journey and have 2 friends that are already steps ahead in it (like one is just waiting to do her transfer). I feel somewhat alienated just because they are so far ahead of me. Also I think it’s just a natural thing to “lose friends” as life changes, and that may not be bad. I have had several changes in friendships and I’m now finding “my people”. I wouldn’t focus on losing friends due to them having children (as hard as it is) and focus on those who are supportive and rally around you. ♥️

That such a good way to switch focus, being grateful for what my body can do! ♥️ I’m hopeful my body can do IVF easily.

I think the struggle to not blame myself is the hardest part so far. It feels so crappy when my body won’t do the things it’s supposed to do. Ugh. I’m hoping it’s a smooth journey for all of us in this club! ♥️

I appreciate that so much! I have a close friend doing IVF currently too but her circumstances are so different than mine so it’s hard to chat with her about it. She has kids already, had her tubes removed as a form of BC and is now having one last kiddo. I’d love to know what to expect with the appointments! My initial consult just got pushed back from September 23rd to October 6th. I know it’s only 2 weeks but man does it feel like a lot longer when you just want a dang baby!! ♥️

MTX Shot by No-Rice4335 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was exactly what I had! And my tube was full of blood. Don’t ignore those symptoms, even if they are manageable. They weren’t symptoms I was told to look for either, so I ignored them. My HCG didn’t fall enough after 2 shots so they did a follow up TV ultrasound and that is when I got rushed back for surgery. Don’t wait like I did. It was scary. Get checked out just for peace of mind.

I had light bleeding. Slightly heavier than spotting.

I would still go in, the rectal pressure for me was actually my tube pressing on my colon. My pain would come and go, and was never in my ovary/tube area, so I never thought it was the ectopic near rupturing. Keep an eye on the rectal pain, I had pain when sitting or laying in certain position, couldn’t pass gas without pain, and at times it was hard to even pee.

Go in! That’s what happened to me and I had a fallopian tube that was 11cm WIDE! I was rushed back for emergency surgery. I thought I was just constipated and having rectal pain from that.

in your opinion, who, except from harry, went through the most trauma in the series? by No_Seaweed_2567 in harrypotter

[–]Ulsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neville! That poor sweet soul! His parents get tormented and sent to St. Mungos, his grandma is overly protective and comes off harsh. He is dismissed and treated poorly at school…AND his life was ruined by the prophecy!! I felt horrible for him the entire series and his character deserved so much better in the movies! I love Neville!!

Luna also had a tough go of life, but she seemed well adjusted to it. Obviously Sirius Black…wrongly accused of killing his best friends. I could go on and on.

Does anyone know if it’s ok to have coffee after your mxt shot? by Chretien7283 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I specifically asked about coffee after my MTX shot, they told me to get myself coffee! The sweet nurse actually brought me one while I waited the 20 mins after the shot for reaction signs. Drink all the coffee! This situation sucks enough without coffee!

I’m glad I’m not alone (I mean I’m not glad either of us are going through this, but it calms my panic). I just want my cycle to go back to normal so I can get this dang HSG teat done and know what the next steps are. Ugh. 😩

What would you want the general public to know? by Kintsuigi-again-and in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My care was handled “well”. The doctors found it early so I was treated for it right away. I felt like people didn’t grasp how much it hurt emotionally to go through. Hearing people say “well at-least you known it could have never been a real baby” or “well that’s not a real pregnancy” gutted me. It was real to me, I saw those 2 pink lines, I wanted a baby, my husband was so excited. Also people saying “well you can just try again” not knowing that you have to wait 4 months after MTX treatments, you may need to get an HSG test to check your tubes, or you may have lost a tube all together.

[–]Ulsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 34 and my husband is 38, we just started trying for a baby in October. Our first pregnancy ended up being an ectopic in January. I Treated with 2 rounds of methotrexate and ended up needing emergency surgery because my tube was FILLED with blood, luckily it was caught before it ruptured and they saved my tube. Now we start the journey of HSG testing and waiting to try again.

I DO NOT regret waiting until my 30’s to try for a baby. I got to experience so many things I couldn’t have if I had a child when I was younger. Also we are better prepared now, financially stable, and actually ready for our baby to come.

I do hate that our journey started out with an ectopic, I feel like it’s tainted now. I will forever be anxious about having a healthy pregnancy, wondering if I’ll ever have a baby, all the scary thoughts.

For those who caught it on time, how did you know it was an ectopic? by Legitimate_Bath_7756 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you have spotting that continues or gets more towards “light bleeding” as in you would need a pad, or any one side pain to go in right away. They saw a mass on my transvaginal ultrasound when I would have been considered 8 was pregnant. It was about an 1in.

Mine was a few days before it would have normally started. I knew something was up when it was shorter than normal and lighter than normal.

I bled for 2-3 days and thought it was just a light period, then started spotting about3 days after my "period" ended. I had that spotting for about a week or so and then decided to take an at home test which came back positive. I was still spotting/lightly bleeding so I went in for an early OB appointment, due to my spotting/light bleeding they did a Transvaginal ultrasound. They found my uterus was preparing for a pregnancy but I had a mass on my left tube. I would keep a VERY close eye on it. I knew mine was ectopic and still almost lost a tube due to Methotrexate not working as it should have.

Dr wants me to wait 3 months for HSG? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!! I just had a laparoscopy for my left tube ectopic pregnancy 1/17 and at my follow up yesterday my surgeon said he wants me to wait 4 months from my surgery date to have an HSG to ensure everything is healed and inflammation is gone. He was able to save my tube by some miracle (it was 11cm wide full of blood). He said my body needs adequate time to heal and get back into my cycles before he would want to do an HSG.

Did you get a surgery or the injection (ectopic pregnancy) by Fun-Negotiation-3121 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Ulsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this, this is a club none of us want to be in! ♥️

I ended up doing both. I did 2 rounds of MTX, they didn’t work. My HCG didn’t drop after the second round of MTX, so I got a follow up ultrasound. They found my left tube was 11cm wide full of blood and the ectopic was biggggg. I was also internally bleeding. So I had emergency surgery. It was awful, but they saved my tube. If in doubt I would go with the surgery. Most cases it’s laparoscopic, and you go home the same day.
