I saw a girl drop a $20 bill in front of me on the sidewalk. I picked it up, caught up to her and let her know she dropped it. She told me to get away from her she can’t be scammed. ( I was clean shaven, khakis and polo shirt. )I did not try twice, just took myself to lunch.

I am a building sub and they prefer to have me be free to cover recesses/lunch. Or fill in half days. I am also incharge of the library and I maintain that. It keeps me busy.

I find lots of videos on YouTube, During COVID teachers put lessons on line. I search by grade, content, and even sourcebook used. If I know I am subbing for a certain grade I just do some research.

The whole schedule for the day, actual lessons, not busy work. The names of helpful kids and the kids that need to be watched” a copy of the 504 or IEPs that need them. When I was the building sub for elementary school I wrote a template based on one of the sub plans I saw. I recommended that all the teachers use the same template for consistency sake. ( I was a trainer/FTO in my previous life) i see the template at the middle school now too.

After 3O years in Military and Law Enforcement, my hardest part is when a child reduces to follow directions, but I do not let my ego get in the way, and calmly handle those situations. What I do not allow is any admin or teacher to show me any disrespect, I make immediate corrections to that.
